Using my SW points, I booked a flight for this today. Still need to buy a ticket though.

Terrible news:
"That Riot Fest thing is a hoot, I'm super flattered," Stamos said sheepishly over the phone about the rock, punk and alternative Chicago music fest's obsession. "But it is sort of weird. I don't know if I'll ever show up at one of those deals."

trying to figure what shows they're still waiting on to finish up here this month before they can announce phase II.
teeks mighta been onto something with Coheed.
(also Mastodon cause they're the #lateadd everywhere this year)

Yeah I'm fully expecting Mastodon to be on there.
Coheed I'm not entirely sold on, they kind of just played and haven't done anything new since then. Although I guess Riot doesn't have a record of caring about repeats...

(also Mastodon cause they're the #lateadd everywhere this year) I'd be 110% down with a Mastodon set. Think there's any chance of either Clutch or Primus? I think they're done with their tour in August or something, so I don't know how likely that'd be

clutch is at open air (july) and primus is ostensibly being added to north coast (september) after playing summercamp in chillicothe. so unlikely.

Although I guess Riot doesn't have a record of caring about repeats... teeks was suggesting it could be another Good Apollo set after the one this friday. they dont normally double up on neverender shows tho and that album is longer than any set they've had at RF so it's a hard sell (ha get it)

...So what you're saying is that we won't be getting a Pink Flag 40th anniversary set? Lame.

Here's hoping we get 2nd wave this week, although I won't be surprised if they make us wait until after the holiday weekend.

my only other guess for shows that are holding this up is Dreamcar, who will be touring again in the fall and doing some fests.
and the vic show next saturday isnt sold out yet.
also summercamp but primus seems like the only plausible contender and we're pretty sure they're doing NCMF instead

I can't imagine they'll announce on Tuesday since Lolla will be announcing their afters, so if they want to stick to May it's gotta be Wednesday right?

So it looks like no additions this month after all, which makes me wonder if they had someone fall out (Soundgarden)?

Pale Hose and I were talking about just this prior to Midnight Oil. We're both pretty sold on Soundgarden being set to slot in right underneath Jawbreaker on RF Sunday prior to Cornell's death.

You guys though Soundgarden would be billed below Jawbreaker...
Seems like the right time to mention that I'd safely bet Paramore actually closes Sunday night, and Jawbreak plays at like 8, mostly unopposed.

I'm not sure how they would have done the billing, it's tough to actually imagine Jawbreaker billed above Soundgarden, but it's RF, and they bill however they want.
As big of a get as Jawbreaker is, they're not gonna keep 40k in the park on Sunday night (neither is Paramore IMO). Either way, they said additions were coming in May, and for whatever reason that didn't happen.

Well that makes it less likely that New Order would play on Saturday also, so that's good
