the Issac Okoro super spreader event may be the most notable part of this draft

Happy with Killian Hayes as the Pistons pick. Now to see who we take with the #16 pick we just snagged

I'm hoping the Bulls can get Paul Reed in the second round. Love his game but I also love every player to come out of DePaul

Oh, I like the Hornets 32 pick. A center! A pretty big one! Yay!

I’m rooting for Nico Mannion at 44 because I’ve actually heard of him.

Two centers! From Duke and KY?! Uh... okay. Well played, Mitch. Well played.

I was reading up on them, of course. I didn't see anything that disgusted me in the slightest. It's really hard to gauge these guys with the pandemic and all. I'm glad these kids had their day. It will be a little extra interesting how it all pans out.

Here's Hollinger's write-up on Devon Dotson:
While there weren’t any Christian Wood-level Green Room moments in this virtual draft, Kansas’s Devon Dotson had to be the most disappointed player. Arguably the best player on what was arguably the best team in the country, the sophomore guard also uncorked a 40-inch max vertical, blazed to a combine-best 3.02 sprint time, and had the fastest time in the shuttle.
He went undrafted anyway, with questions about his size (he measured 6-1 with a 6-3 wingspan), jump shot and background superceding his athleticism and blast-off quickness. I think this might be a mistake that teams will regret, but this was also an unusually deep draft for point guards and a few of them were bound to slide. Dotson ended up agreeing to a 2-way with the Bulls after the draft.
I honestly hadn't heard of him. Sounds like the Bulls lucked into a good player.

I don't know anything about him, but that sounds good to me.
Also, the Klay news is tragic.

It sounds like the Warriors knew it was bad before the draft and still passed on Ball.

I like Dotson quite a bit, but there's a long line of these 5-star undersized PG recruits who go to big time programs, do really well in college, and then just do basically nothing in the pros. I am bored between parent-teacher conferences so I looked up the last decade of these guys: Josh Selby, Marquis Teague, Quinn Cook, Yogi Ferrell, Tyler Ennis, Tyus Jones, Jalen Brunson, Dennis Smith Jr. I will say I am a sucker for this type and I loved 100% of them.

True - all the better they didn't use a draft pick on him, I guess.

People seem really split on LaMelo. I think it's funny if you go read any write ups on rookies, most of them say something about lacking defense. At the very least, he's got mad hype and will draw some interest for a bit. Charlotte has always hurt for that, so I think it was a good use of that pick. Could go either way. I really like them following up with a couple of centers, when size is what they really needed. I give them a solid B on those first couple rounds. May review later.
Batum comes off the books after this season, too.
