that doesnt sound very postitive.
do other points of the interview make it sound like they're actually getting together?

Thanks for quoting that, great news. I'm at work so I can't really listen to the interview right now, any other info of note?

The quote Sleeping used was around 28:30, he does make it sound like the reunion is happening in 2018 (25th anniversary of Siamese Dream & 30th anniversary of the classic lineup).

nice. they gotta play a metro35 show right? I hope if they do that it's a residency. Tickets will be impossible if it's only one show.

Is it most likely Corgan and Chamberlain with two other randos?

no, the implication is its the original lineup with iha and d'arcy

Was gonna be like "do we need a Smashing Pumpkins thread in 2017" but then I saw the contents and damn, that would be insanely exciting. I was way into SP back in the late oughts but kinda fell off as it gradually became glorified Corgan & Friends. Never saw them live as a result. This tour would be ridiculously awesome.

Hooky's son on bass = hard pass

I'm sad to say I'm gonna pay to see this no matter who is on bass. This is as close as I think I can get to seeing the OG Pumpkins again.

I don't love it but this is a much saner conversation than I expected William Corgan to have.

Not loving the "timed to the minute, same setlist every night" business either.

I'm not going to accuse D'Arcy of anything but she isn't projecting a super lucid vibe in those texts. I would actually be a bit more sympathetic towards William if he didn't come off like a complete turd with laughable delusions of grandeur.

I kind of hoped to see the original 4 together again. Reading second hand texts of William mansplaining showbiz optics to D'Arcy just makes me mellon collie

D'Arcy's confidence thinking Jack White is Patti Smith's son made me fact-check it and now I feel foolish.

I got through about half that interview last night. It seems to me D'arcy is not stable enough to participate in the reunion, unfortunately.

At this point I'm wondering who Billy is going to blame when this thing flops. My guess is that he will blame Jimmy and James again and then say it's the fans fault.

That was a long read. I can’t speak to D’Arcy’s mental state, but she didn’t answer the question about how often she’s played bass in the last 17 years. That would be a valid concern heading into a high profile arena tour.

She also contradicted herself several times. It's very sad. Yeah this really stuck out to me as well. "We were never friends." "I miss our friendship."
