Yeah, that's a pretty good setlist. I still way over paid for my seat but at least I will get some value out of it. I just gotta stop buying tickets when hungover.

I could do without Everlasting Gaze as well, but Billy's not gonna give that one up. I'll be curious to see if they change it up from date to date. i didnt realize people didnt like that one. overall that's a good setlist and worth the $30 or whatever shitty seats were. "beginning is the end is the beginning" is a nice add Maybe it's just me, but I remember feeling like he was trying to recapture former glory when that song came out. It just always felt fake to me.

No issues with that setlist. I had concerns that James wasn't going to get his one token song but if Blew Away is there I support the cause

I know this is a SP thread, but I'm interested in Metric's setlist as well. Can't find it on the google machine yet, but I'll keep looking.

Curious as well. Enjoying "Dark Saturday", better than anything on the last album at least.

Thanks. Not exactly what I'd hoped for, but still okay.

Yeah happy to see Black Sheep in there. Of the 4 times I've seen Metric, they've never played that one.

metric was good, but they're not an arena band - their stage presence was lacking. but good for them for getting the opening slot - arena had a pretty good sized crowd when they were on. songs were good - i didn't know much of them, but liked their 45-min set.
i could've done without any of the covers sp did - billy does this weird thing on a stairway above the drummer in front of the screen during space oddity too. he should never be without a guitar - so awkward.
and i can't remember what songs, but there were 2 i think where he's playing piano on a riser above and behind the drums wearing a white fedora. total axl rose moment.
all that said, i enjoyed the hell out of the songs from gish, siamese and mellon. band sounds really good.

The key to a good SP set is apparently to do half a set's worth of guests covering non-SP songs.

That looks even more miserable to me than the actual pumpkins tour sets. Billy and co doing karaoke

would be pretty cool if they played somewhere in chicago prior to united center
i officially know they will not do anything wednesday, because their gear is all arriving in KC that day
metro is open sunday. so doubtful, but there's a chance. billy did post that there's a special "PAWS" announcement tomorrow. could be a pop-up show as a benefit for PAWS.

I think I'm more interested in the 3 hour arena production than I would be in a metro show? lemme pay $30 and see the spectacle

As a lifetime fan simply seeing them on stage at Metro (especially Iha) is very much a bucket list thing for me, I've never done it yet.
However, they just got announced as guests to sing the stretch at Sunday night's Cubs game...I feel like that's a nail in the coffin of a pre-show, but my wild hope is telling me that they ARE going to be right across the street, and could very easily start the show at 10...

Billy Corgan is looking to the past and mulling over possible anniversary tours surrounding both 1995’s Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness and 2000’s highly underrated double album, Machina/Machina II.
“Imagine having a film script, and a bunch of songs that go with the film script, and a story, and it could be made anyway,” he explained. “The band could perform it onstage with visuals like the tour we just did [on the current ‘Shiny Oh So Bright Tour’]. You could enact it theatrically, which probably isn’t the optimal way to do it, because the band sort of needs to be part of the show.
“Or you could turn it into a musical movie, like Tommy or The Wall or something like that. Hopefully this will set the stage for that someday being released,” he continued. “With that said, Mellon Collie was sort of written as a musical, but it was never explored publicly. We still are hopeful that as we go along we will be able to create similar shows around those albums [including Machina], in the way that we created a show around the Shiny tour.”

Something's happening. There are five countdowns on the official band pages ending August 27, September 17, October 8, October 29, and November 19.
