I think that since this is being billed as a reunion and an "a+ Broadway show" we are supposed to be wise to the fact that William is playing the character of "Billy", 90s misanthrope and provacateur. When he's wearing the extra tight Zero shirt it's theater, not a midlife crisis.

Love that the dream reunion setlist includes FIVE covers.
It'd be really stupid for them to do all those covers and not play "Black Diamond."

The covers seem so pointless. I’d rather hear four recent Pumpkins songs

Billy has pissed enough people off over the years that there will be no shortage of stories that will try to spin this reunion tour in a negative light, however they can. Funny how CoS didn't feel the need to publish anything about how poorly Arcade Fire's tour sold.

Just pulled up the seat map for Portland. Looks like there are plenty of floor seats still available here as well. But $99+fees for floor/100 level seats? That's some bullshit.
I was on the floor for both The Cure and Rush and I didn't pay nearly that much for either of them. In fact, The Cure was only $48+fees (can't find my Rush receipt in my emails but I think it was a similar price to The Cure). Looks like Billy's ego got the better of him.

Portland is the only stop I didn’t buy floor for. Hopefully can just walk down there.

Yeah, arenas was a mistake for this tour. I think they knew they weren't going to sell any of those venues out but they needed the production capacity for this weird rock opera thing they seem to be trying to do. Sheds would have made more sense.

Sheds would have made more sense. Honestly even sheds seems like a stretch in some of these markets without a big opener or co-headliner. It might still happen but they should have thrown some sort of buzz band that could help the advertising as an opener

I think putting the setlist out there in advance was a mistake, too.

Didn't Billy just use that setlist as an example? And then specifically ask for fan feedback?

I think the opposite. Seeing all of those #hits listed probably moved some people to buy tickets who might have been on the fence.

William P. Corgan's latest instagram post
I had an interesting dream this morning where I was at a party, and the host was playing the new @nickelback single, and it was note for note, word for word, a heavier version of a song from my in progress solo album (called 'Jubilee'). And my first reaction was that I'd ripped Chad off, and I was mad at myself because that meant I couldn't someday release my version. And then, still in dream-state, I thought maybe Chad had ripped me off! But then it occurred to me that that was unlikely (and obviously unnecessary), so I settled on it was I who was the thief!

Tagging @nickleback for maximum buzz virality 3. Low key unsubtle promotion of his upcoming album 4. Correctly pointing out that the Nickel doesn't need to mine WPC solo albums for content 5. Low key courting the Nickelback crowd to help the tour attendance numbers by teasing that he might (!!!) play a less heavy version of a Nickelback song

I'm thinking about buying s $20 ticket for SP in KC. Have they announced any opening acts yet?

FWIW, Jambase says the opening band for the KC show is Metric. That makes me happy. That $20 ticket is looking even better now.
EDIT: Metric's facebook doesn't show the KC date, but it says they are opening for SP in Denver and Salt Lake City.
