Headliners seem small/lame outside of Lana and Pulp but overall pretty good? Not sure it’s enough to travel for, though. I'd be more tempted if I hadn't seen Pulp over the weekend. Same I saw them in Ireland but they were so good I’d see them again haha. Still considering because Spain is dope but am not buying right away.

I make bad choices and did just buy tickets/flights to this with some friends. Excited to continue my streak of going very out of my way to see Pulp.

The National just added a show at Razmatazz on Wednesday before the fest, so looks like I'll be trying for a ticket to that

As much as I love YLT, I don't know that I want to see a full covers set by them. Might try for Les Savy Fav instead. Might try for that Model/Actriz Mandy show too

I’ve seen The National enough times that I’m not super tempted. Will probably just save my energy for the fest.
Might do Water From Your Eyes/Crumb.

Just noticed they have the set times up for the pre shows and the Wednesday lineup. If I can get a ticket for the National show, I can see them and make it in time for Phoenix too

Got the ticket for the National show at Razmatazz. Was a little worried since it took a few minutes to get through and they don't have a status bar or anything. Cost a whopping 10 Euro.
Also got one for the Les Savy Fav preshow and the Model/Actriz Mandy Indiana show. And plus got a ticket for the Phoenix show since the schedule says I should be able to make it there in time for them after the National. That's a good week.

Schedule is up, of course tons of conflicts, but I still pretty much have something to watch every hour. Bad news is FKA Twigs dropped, she was one of the acts I wanted to see the most. 4 or 5 other smaller acts (no one of note) dropped too, no interesting replacements. They renamed one stage for Steve Albini, since Shellac played there almost every year and was supposed to play this year. They're having a listening party for them too during what I assume would have been their set time this year.
Tons of conflicts, worst for me is probably Vampire Weekend and Beth Gibbons, but I can watch about an hour of VW first and then they can do that 20 minute cowboy bullshit and then I can go watch Beth instead.

Charli not being main stage seems…. bad.

Charli not being main stage seems…. bad. That is definitely a very poor decision. That's the one night I'll probably be leaving before 4 AM after her set, so at least it's right by the exit

VW hasn't done the cowboy stuff for the last couple shows just FYI

Damn, hard to argue this isn't the best festival in the world still. Did a quick run down of what my theoretical schedule would look like and daaaaamn:
- Basinski - Gibbs & Madlib - Blonde Redhead - Amaarae - Vampire Weekend - Pulp - Sofia Kourtesis - The Armed / Justice
- Ethel Cain - Last Dinner Party - Yo La Tengo - GEL / Faye Webster - Lana Del Rey - Jai Paul - The National - Clipse - Obongjayar - Arca
- Nala Sinephro - Lankum - Militarie Gun - Crumb - PJ Harvey - Mitski - Bikini Kill - SZA - Model/Actriz
Just an untouchable weekend - hope everyone going has a blast! Maybe one of these years I can make it happen too.

Fest is great as always. The smaller footprint than 2022 definitely helps getting around. Still are some minor issues.
One of the stages where William Basinkski, Lambchop, Chelsea Wolfe and Jessica Pratt are playing is indoors in that big black building right at the entrance (for those who have been to the fest). And it fills to capacity fast, pretty much making it impossible to see those acts of you don't get there and wait super early.
Attendance is DEFINITELY lower than it was in 2022. I was about halfway in the main field for VW, and there was no one in 5 feet in either direction. I would guess there were maybe 3k people watching Pulp too. Justice probably had the biggest crowd, but I was watching others.
Still stupid traffic controls there. There are 4 paths you can use to get to that main stage, and from VW on, they forced the whole crowd to only go through one path.
And lastly, they switched from Coke products to Pepsi. Nasty.
But still the best fest.

Happen to be in Barcelona this weekend and could maybe swing goinf tomorrow. How do the overall logistics and experience compare to some of the major US festivals? Any first timer tips?

Much better. 6 of the stages switch off. Takes maybe 10 minutes to walk one end of the park to the other. Tons of food and drink options

And they played Tom Courtenay right before it too.
