I don’t want to speak for dij, but I would guess the solution is bumping the deadline back into January, which would also give us proper time to process December releases. I don’t think we need to follow a magazine print schedule for when we do our best of lists. I’d even suggest that an early Jan list release may even serve other folks whose New Year’s resolution was to “listen to more new music”

The Beyonce album is a great listen that I basically never feel compelled to return to. Can't justify putting an album that I sense has no staying power that high on my list. Feel free to dig this up when it's in my top 10 of the 2020s. Fwiw, it's already an A-tier gym / road trip album for me. I'd bet I'll end up listening to it more than any 2022 album over the next 5-6 years just from that alone. I listen to country and metal when I drive but I am in 100% agreement that this album is made for the gym. Maybe that is a backhanded compliment I have no clue. |

Probably need to get to 7-8 to make this look like something worth completing.
Let’s say extension to Friday January 6. If it was on an album that came out last year it can count towards that list, maybe that’ll open some more lists up. I’ll post this on 1-9.
