Glad that board sees me as old and fat.
When are you looking for lists to be submitted? Definitely want to do this, but need to know how much time I have.

Revisited this one today and came to the unfortunate realization that most of the songs I like from this band (LiliPut, a Swedish post-punk outfit originally named Kleenex) were singles from 1978 or 1980 that were at the front of an anthology I listened to on Spotify. Their actual debut LP is solid but probably won't crack my top 100. Y'all should give their single "Ain't You" a listen tho - such an awesome track

Took another crack at this one - still not my thing, but oh well, I tried. Maybe its cuz I never listened to any hardcore or Black Flag until I was like 23 and reading Our Band Could Be Your Life, but it just doesn't connect with me. "Rise Above" rips tho, of course. Just not gonna be one of my personal favorites.

rap wasn't very good in the 80s rap was very good in the 80s. 1980's: run dmc self titled first album, king of rock, raising hell, tougher than leather. he's the dj, I'm the rapper. kurtis blow's the breaks. nwa's straight outta compton. heavy d's living large. licensed to ill, paul's boutique. utfo's roxanne, roxanne. eric b and rakim's paid in full. grandmaster flash and the furious five's the message. 3 feet high and rising. all hail the queen. the first two bdp albums. the first 3 LL cool J albums. 3 kool moe dee albums. Yo' Bum Rush the Show, and It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.

I'd also like to shout-out Ultramagnetic MCs Critical Beatdown, probably in my top 5 rap albums of the decade. Featuring the debut of Kool Keith, bizarre as always, even within the confines of a group.

Revisited this one and discovered that, yes, it still rips. Probably the heaviest album that I love from this decade? Up there with Reign in Blood, but I'm not sure which one will end up on top. Regardless, this is about the most extreme my current music taste gets. Something that, as always, is subject to change. Also, I can't shake my thought the first time I heard this that Tom Warrior's reading of the title "Morbid Tales" sounds more like "More Bidets" .... maybe he visited the States and was angry about our single toilet set-ups? Idk, maybe this is more a convo for the shit talkin' thread.

Here's another album that I wish did more for me. I really like Tom's drunken jazz club singer-songwriter records from the mid-70s, but I've always struggled to connect with his more avant 80s stuff. I give this and Rain Dogs a listen every other year or so, but it mostly passes through me. I can recognize that something great is happening here and it's definitely interesting, but I'm still waiting to be personally bowled over by it.

For your consideration: Philip Glass Glassworks, Satyagraha, Akhnaten , and Solo Piano all make a strong case for landing on the list

It was actually the live versions in the deluxe edition of Daydream Nation that got me to really love the album, beyond Teenage Riot, of course. Unsure where DN will rank for me ultimately, but it’ll be there.

"House of Pain" was my favorite of the ones I didn't already know. Top Jimmy and The Wait were fun too.
