If he wants to make Meg a D'Arcy and just do an ersatz Stripes tour with a rando drummer and no one else, I wouldn't complain. My biggest complaint in my litany of 'solo Jack White' complaints is how he takes perfect three-minute Stripes songs and gets his dick all over them for eight to twelve minutes. Honestly I wish basically every band would take their great 3-minute songs and make them 12 minutes.

ugh.
When A Perfect Circle hit the road for their spring/summer touring this year, they will do so without guitarist James Iha. Iha will instead be joining his Smashing Pumpkins bandmates on the road for a reunion tour. In light his absence, the band have recruited Failure, etc. bassist Greg Edwards to fill-in. They commented:
“As you most likely have heard, James Iha‘s original band, the Smashing Pumpkins, have announced a Summer tour that James will be taking part in. Because James will be busy gearing up for that tour he won’t be able to join us for our upcoming tour dates. James‘ temporary replacement will be none other than our longtime friend and one of our favorite guitar players, Greg Edwards (Failure/Autolux). We want to reiterate that this is a temporary situation and James remains a part of A Perfect Circle.”

“I think what she did demonstrates why she couldn’t be involved,” he tells The Times, in reference to the text message conversations she shared. He continues, “I was vulnerable and shared things and trusted that there was a reason to give it a chance, despite plenty of empirical evidence that that was not a wise decision.” He adds that the bridge is burned “forever.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Corgan addresses criticisms of his politics after his appearances on the alt-right conspiracy theorist show InfoWars. Asked whether he voted for Trump, Corgan states that the last time he voted was for Bill Clinton in 1992. “I’m a free-market libertarian capitalist,” he explains. “I’m not anti-anything except establishment. I find institutions and systems suspicious.” Coscarelli also notes that, during the interview, Corgan used the following terms: “culture war,” “fake news,” “globalists,” “Maoists,” “purity tests,” “left-leaning groupthink,” “protected minority groups,” “mass hypnosis,” and “social justice warriors.”
Discussing whether his off-stage behavior turn fans off, Corgan says, “If I kept my mouth shut, and if I kept my band together, we’d be playing a lot bigger venues and we would be a lot more successful, and we’d be in somebody’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.” He clarifies, “I would say 80 percent of the things that I get held up and mocked for, I’m doing intentionally.... It’s sort of funny to me that they actually think I’m that stupid. It’s, like, yeah, I work in wrestling—I’m running you.”

I've been ignoring Billy Corgan since the Zwan days, but bought tickets for this Pumpkins tour because it looked like a good time. Not so sure I need to participate in this anymore.

Billy’s doing a great job of convincing me that I don’t need to buy a ticket for this tour.

I'm just waiting to see if he can get through the tour before blaming the slow ticket sales on James and Jimmy. I think it's 50/50

n a new interview on Vish Khanna’s Kreative Kontrol podcast, Fugazi bassist Joe Lally has revealed that the band still occasionally gets together to play. Lally begins, “Yeah, when we’re all in D.C., we totally hang out together and talk and spend a lot of time laughing. We have a great time together, go out to dinner, and we’ll play some music together.” He then shoots down any hopes of a potential reunion: “There’s so much to try to look after to allow Fugazi to do anything, that we do not have the time to give it the respect that it deserves. So unfortunately, it is where it is.” Fugazi went on indefinite hiatus in 2002. Listen to the episode around the 35:00 mark.
Back in January 2017, Ian MacKaye alluded to the band’s jam sessions in an interview on the Culture Creature podcast. When host Dan Redding asked MacKaye, “Have you guys ever jammed just for fun at any point?” He replied, “Oh, sure, over the years? Sure, of course, yeah. But really, purely just to play music together because that’s what we love to do.”
During the episode, Lally was joined by Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty and guitarist Anthony Pirog. The trio have formed a new band called the Messthetics, whose self-titled debut album comes out later tonight. Last year, Fugazi endorsed a new opera inspired by the band, created by the New York-based ensemble Object Collection.

That makes me sad, but I also love that they loved making music together so much that they continue to do it with each other for themselves.

"Fugazi or Minor Threat" as I've said before, I saw fugazi at the roller rink that used to be on clark north of lawrence. but, I have an ex, who I met when she was 28 and a school of the art institute alum, who when she was 14 or 15 had a fake ID and snuck into a minor threat show in her home state of Florida. I didn't care enough about minor threat at the time to ask her for more details about the show. in reply to ferroman

they broke up in march of 2013 and Axwell /\ Ingrosso formed in 2014 it was only a matter of time and 5 years is a lifetime in EDM considering how short of a shelf life some of these acts have
