right on cue
“The trouble is the two remaining members, my brother Dave and Mick [Avory, longtime Kinks drummer] never got along very well,” Ray Davies says in the new interview, adding that he “hasn’t brought them together in the same room yet.” Nonetheless, he says, “I’ve got some great Kinks tunes in my head.” Asked directly whether the band is reuniting, Davies responds: “Officially we are, yes… at the pub later on.”
In the remainder of the half-hour video interview, Davies discusses his songwriting philosophy, his view of the United States, the 50th anniversary of The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society, and admits he was “joking slightly about the Kinks.”

I'm trying my best to temper my excitement. The Kinks are top 5 for me, and I'd love to believe that a reunion tour will happen. But I feel like this has been brought up several times. Not that they'd play KC, no one does that.
Edit: yup.

“Hey, Erlend here, there is no easy way to say this, so I’ll just get straight to it.
It’s necessary for me to part ways with Kvelertak.
The experience of building a successful band has been fun and rewarding but has also been equally intense and challenging. Over the years, this has taken its toll. As we’ve been developing personally and professionally, our individual goals, needs and motivations have changed, leading us in different directions.
Though it is a heavy decision to leave a life I’ve been living and breathing for the last decade, I feel happy and excited to explore new possibilities for the future.
Regrettably, due to circumstances out of my control, I am not able to perform the last four shows in Norway this summer. I apologize to the festival organizers and fans planning on these shows.
I would like to thank Bjarte, Kjetil, Maciek, Marvin and Vidar, our crew, bands we’ve toured with and everyone else who has worked with Kvelertak. Most importantly, I appreciate our awesome fans that have made everything possible. I’m very proud and grateful for everything we’ve accomplished as Kvelertak. I am genuinely thankful for everything we’ve experienced together and wish the band the best of luck and success in the future.
Kvelertakk for meg!
Erlend Hjelvik“

Man. They're not breaking up though? Seems like a crazy time to leave, if they put out another album of the same quality as the last one I feel like they would blow up a lot more than they even already have. I get that it's probably a stressful life though.

i could see them finding a replacement singer and pressing on.
i'm assuming this will delay any news of a new album or tour tho.

Seattle rockers Minus the Bear have announced they are breaking up. The Seattle-based group—which currently consists of Jake Snider, Dave Knudson, Cory Murchy, and Alex Rose, as well as touring member Joshua Sparks—was originally founded in 2001, releasing sixth full-length albums over the course of their career. “We’ve accomplished so much over the past 17 years, and we are grateful for the experience,” the band wrote in a statement, thanking their fans. “Your support weathered us through storms that easily could have scuttled the band. Throughout the years, it’s you who kept us going. We cannot thank you enough.”
In addition to the news, Minus the Bear have announced a farewell tour, which kicks off October 9 with a show at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville, Tennessee. The band are also releasing one last EP titled Fair Enough, which is out October 19 via long-time label Suicide Squeeze. “We’ll be digging deep in the MTB catalogue and we are honored for the opportunity to play our hearts out for you one last time,” their statement concluded. Find the full list of dates below, and listen to the EP’s title track as well.

A band name that gets that kind of reaction is flawless, imho.
