only saw them once, at q101 jamboree 97, where they were overshadowed by just about every other act except for republica and the verve pipe.

i liked the bosstones a lot in high school and some girl would brag that her uncle was in the band. the one time i saw them while in high school she said she was going to be backstage with him. and then the show was on lehigh university's intramural soccer field and i think chicago street fests have more of a backstage area.

Listening to the Bosstones for the first time this morning (the deepest I've gotten into ska is, like, The Specials and Madness) - and my take is "this is like Fucked Up but more fun." Good shit.
(Take applies to this song specifically.)

A roundtable discussion about 3rd wave ska would be fun. Speaking of, I know RX Bandits are reuniting this year (someone tell Garpo).

I’m being stupidly optimistic, but Sigur Ros just posted that they have several things planned this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ( ) It’s been over 4 years since their last band performance

Daft Punk has been updating and posting images on their socials multiple times over the last few hours. It's a year to the day from when they posted the farewell video. I refuse to get any hopes up, but these are things that are happening.
EDIT: They also updated their website and apparently created a Twitch account very recently. Something is going to happen, who knows what.

Looks like the answer was a livestream of a helmetless show from 1997. I actually think Buzz gave me a bootleg copy of the audio from a similar show in the Chicagoland area- it's on my old laptop that hasn't worked in years and now I kinda wanna get in there and get those tunes

I actually think Buzz gave me a bootleg copy of the audio from a similar show in the Chicagoland area- the 3 daft punk chicagoland shows prior to lolla 2007 were the even further rave near madison wisconsin in 1996, the roller rink on the southside of chicago in early 1997, and cabaret metro in september 1997. I didn't know who they were yet, so I did not attend any of the 3, unfortunately.

Update from James Murphy. Guess I shouldn't be optimistic about new music coming any time soon

thus, james murphy ensures that lcd won't ever be in the trapper keeper, unless he was actually present in lounge ax for the arcwelder / six finger satellite show.

Honestly I think I'd prefer them just do singles like he mentions as an option instead of trying to make an album

I love LCD (didn’t care for American Dream) but does anyone really want more LCD music at this point?
