Roger must really really suck if David is refusing to get that last big payday with him

I have no doubts that that is an accurate description and do not give a shit about Pink Floyd, but it is fairly funny to quote tweet agreeing with your wife. “Absolutely dear, you’re spot on.”

Camp Cope broke up, apparently. my partner is devastated by this news The Opener was such a killer track, will be following their solo stuff or whatever Georgia does next at least.

That's a bummer. Their album last year was excellent and their P4K set was great

I saw superchunk very early in their history, and will assume worster was in the band already, but am not 100% sure.

There's a lot of wacky stuff in that article but put it another way, imagine being a Dead Head and seeing this in 1996

I had that RS issue as well. Wouldn't be surprised if I voted in that Readers Poll, and voted for Live. I would've called them one of my favorite bands in high school. That article, man, what a fucked up situation.
I miss Elastica more than I miss Live.

i'm sure that rolling stone issue is still on a bookshelf in my parents' basement. maybe 15-20 years ago, rolling stone offered a lifetime subscription for $99 so i got it. but it actually has an expiration date on the label (dec 2059), so at least i know how long i'll live. 91 years will have been a good long life!

I miss Elastica more than I miss Live. I never got to see Elastica back in the day. I did hear they weren't very good live, though. I saw Live back in November of 1994 at Radio Music Hall in DC. Weezer was one of the opening bands, and at the time, I barely knew any of their music (I think I still don't know anything other than the blue album). I think that was also the only time I ever saw Weezer.

i'm reading dan ozzi's Sellout. some of the bands mention difficult situations with labels and that their only way out is to be bought out by a major label or to break up. what stops a band from "breaking up" to get out of a bad label situation but then "reforming" under a different name later? has anyone done this? i obviously know about bands splintering, like at the drive-in going separate ways for mars volta and sparta. but i can't think of where a band "broke up" and then everyone started again as a new band.

I think that was also the only time I ever saw Weezer. I thought about going to see Elastica in a small club in St. Louis, but I had the ACT the next morning. They replaced Sinead O'Connor on the Lolla tour one summer, but we didn't get them. If we had gotten them, I would've gone (I still should've gone). I saw Live a few times, but not the one with Weezer opening.

never heard of Spielbergs until the last page. saw Live at milwaukee summerfest a decade after their formation. I went to tower on clark to see elastica, and they did a signing, but did not perform.
