last time i saw them was a 3/4-full allstate arena with ryan adams. and now we're talking about soldier field just because of a reunion bump?

Old enough to remember an Allstate Arena show with a very empty upper deck. Big opener too - Ryan Adams and the Cardinals.
That said if they keep the prices in line, no reason they couldn't get 65,000 people to see their reunion in the Midwest. If they are asking for more than $200 a pop I think it'll sell poorly. I'm almost certain whatever promoter pulled this off is going to be offering a stadium sized bag.

Soldier Field seems like a stretch maybe it sells if it's the only show in the midwest with some big openers Rumor is multiple big openers. If they price it right they can move the tickets. If that post is to be believed this would be their only Midwest date.

This will sell super well as long as it's not $200 for nosebleeds, as Pale Hose said earlier. Big difference IMO between late 2000s Oasis (inconsistent performances, middling album run) and 2024 Oasis (legend status with a generation of fans who haven't seen them / don't know about their past live reputation).

I never saw them, but they were one of my favorites in high school. Even had an Oasis poster in my dorm. I don't know if I'd go to Chicago to see them. Just gonna wait to see how this all shakes out.

Y'all are wild if you don't think the Soldier field date is gonna sell out.
Hopefully I'll get tickets

I outlined why in the Lolla thread, but I think that's where they're going to wind up based on about a year of chatter from the booker Huston.

Not that it matters much but it sounds like Noel's High Flying Birds are gonna be the band for this thing

Signed up for the Europe presale but I assume tickets to this are going to be impossible. Gonna try for one of the Wembley shows.

Every band should know you ride that reunion buzz for a year into bigger venues than you'd normally get to play, then when that dies down is when you go get the festival money

Yeah I just thought they’d been kind of banished to playing 3pm timeslots at mid-sized fests.

Seems like it was more of a quiet hiatus. They haven't played any shows since 2019 (and were really only doing various one-ofs for the year or two before that), and no new music since 2014.

Tunde is an actor now and Dave Steik had a solo project and I’d assume producing stuff still. They never said they were done but it’s probably been like 2017 since they’ve been around regularly
