I have listened to a lot of hip hop this year and then I go back and listen to the Saturations and almost all of them are better than the other hip hop that I listened to so *shrug*?
It's just really fun music.
I actually just texted someone this morning to discuss what price we will pay for one of those shows without feeling like total idiots.

You can get on the main floor for the Monday show via stubhub for less than $50 before fees, hope this helps

Calling Vijay Iyer "overlooked" is absurd. Maybe "overlooked" by indie music sites that don't cover jazz (or by people like the author that admit that they know almost nothing about it), but the album was overwhelmingly voted the best jazz album of the year in NPRs annual jazz critics poll. It also featured on numerous AOTY lists like NPR and Rolling Stone. Iyer is one of the most universally praised contemporary jazz artists.

None of them were reviewed for Notable Releases, and only one of them has been discussed on BV at all. They might not be the most overlooked albums of 2017 (whatever that means), but they’re all albums that passed me by during this very busy year and that I’m strongly recommending now.

Imagine a jazz based site saying: Overlooked Albums 2017. We just didn’t cover these on our site even though other places may have. 1. Kendrick Lamar - Damn

It definitely would be weird if a jazz website recommended Kendrick or a rap website recommended The Sword, but BV isn't dedicated to a specific genre. It's a terrible analogy. It's okay to admit you didn't read the explanation they provided and that you're just reacting to react.

I like it, but mostly cuz I dig the Suffering Hour album quite a bit. There were 4 albums on there that I didn’t listen to, and the Sorcerer record I had been planning on.
