Homemade Dynamite is like the worst song on Melodrama.
DAMN will be P4K's album of the year but I don't know if Humble will be the track. Though I'm having trouble coming up with anything else.

I think AOTY is gonna be King Krule. They haven't done a rock album for the top spot in awhile, and it's definitely worthy of the accolade. That 9.0 came out of nowhere. Seems strange to give it that score so close to the end of the year.

Wait King Krule is a rock? I thought he was a rap?
Maybe I should check that album out.

I'd say he's more rock than hip hop, but if we're being specific I'd say he's post-punk. Definitely has some hip hop elements.

I could see it going to any of these: King Krule, Kendrick, Mount Eerie, Perfume Genius, Fever Ray, or Julien Baker. Solange winning last year reminded everyone that a 9+ is not a shoe-in for AOTY so 8.6-8.8's are contenders. Silent Shout had an 8.6.

Julien Baker is def not getting #1. She'll be like #7.

Homemade Dynamite is the worst song on Melodrama.
Kendrick won’t be getting a third AOTY from them. It’ll be Lorde or King Krule.
King Krule is rock. His last release under his actual name was hip hop.
There is nothing even remotely showing that Julien Baker is getting AOTY. Her score is one of many 8.6s. There’s loads of albums with higher scores. Her album is doing nothing particularly groundbreaking or unique. Nobody is writing big thinkpieces about her.
If for some reason they really feel like throwing some curveball AOTY something like Jay Z makes more sense than “white girl plays guitar and piano 8.6.”

Has there ever been a post where there's been so much I've agreed with while also being so much that is fundamentally stupid?

Just to be clear, I said it wouldn't surprise me. Not advocating for a Julien Baker AOTY sweep across all music blogs/publications, nor am I hoping she interrupts SZA at the Grammys to steal her Best New Artist award.
