I did, it was a pretty great weekend. I'd rank the shows 3>2>1, 3 was a heater but they were all pretty solid. The new lights/platforms/video/led screen?? are wild and give you plenty to look at - it was so mesmerizing to watch the house from the Turmoil & Tinfoil album cover - the eyeball rolled around, the door opened and closed, the grass bubbled up into lava and disintegrated, all very cool.

We had 3-day tickets so we had the same neighbors every night and they were so much fun except one lady who was kind of like Weird Barbie and a squirrel monkey had a babby, but even she was entertaining to watch.

Can confirm flights were ridiculous (even more so because I upgraded and then changed my flight and then changed it back) but ultimately, worth it. Asheville is a fun little town and there were a lot of pre- and post-shows to check out (though we were lazy and didn't) that the guys showed up to, and they were also just hanging out around town, a few of our seatmates met them.

Going to a little music fest here on Saturday just to catch an 80 minute Billy set. Guessing it'll be less jammy and more of a heater type of show which for a single set thing I'm ok with, I saw him with a shorter set at Innings Fest back in 22 and had a blast with it. Wish he got the two hours like he's getting at the big sky fest though

Amanda Shires and Los Lobos are playing too and those are nice bonuses but overall would not be going to this thing if Billy wasn't playing

First year fest, hope it isn't a shit show

I'll be at Telluride Bluegrass this year and they just announced Billy Strings is playing Thursday with Chris Thile (and presumably sitting in with the house band as it was moved from sunday to Thursday)

Can't imagine how psychotic the bluegrass freaks are gonna be all day

yeah that's going to probably have a not fun affect on the crowd that day for sure but its a cool addition

I'm jealous, they have a great lineup for that this year. It's on my list to go one day

the hippie chill sam bush energy is definitely a better vibe than the bluegrass shredder vibe but I meant watching them go nuts as a positive in this case. I've rarely seen people go crazier than the 2017(?) fest there With that said there will be alot of people who loudly complain that billy strings was the only one who could play all day and than leave as soon as charley Crockett's drum set is set up but thats a given at a bluegrass fest.

Watched some of set two last night on Nugs, seemed like a heater. Were any other boarders there? 

Hoping we get the fall tour dates in the next week or two, I want to see a full show at some point this year

I went both nights. First night was solid but definitely elevated by the surprise of Billy's dad on the encore. He was picking in the lot yesterday too.

Second night was maybe not my fave ever but the second set was tight and that Lumpy, Beanpole & Dirt was just filthy, so good.

I love a hard touring band that can still surprise night after night, and I think we got that. I thought we might get a Slew, or a Dylan cover with it being Bob's birthday but these were solid sets just the same.

The Allstate wasn't as bad as I remembered, we ended up ubering and it was pretty smooth getting in and out. $7.25 for water and no drinking fountains is wild though. I wasn't paying attention the first night and bought like 3 lol.

I've decided on doing Fort Worth and still keeping my options open for Billyween and/or Huntsville depending on some budgeting stuff, but I'll be risking the resale market for those

I had a CoT alert set for the Chicago shows and the resale market seemed pretty reasonable. Alerts came pretty frequently.

Yeah my experience with resale for Billy has generally been easy, specially at the bigger shows. Halloween could have some extra demand but I'm not super worried

Doesn't hurt that it's about twice the capacity of the Asheville arena where they usually have the Halloween shows. I needed to grab ADA seats though so I'm glad to have those sorted.

Oh yeah I've heard most of the tracks via Nugs but I figure they spent some time mixing them well to sound nice for the album vs just a soundboard dump

It'll also be nice to have something to send friends as I attempt to indoctrinate them into liking Billy

I listened yesterday, they are solid versions but I wouldn't say the best versions I heard last year. Can't imagine how hard it would have been to pick them.
