Do you have to wash beards? I had no idea. I guess it makes sense. Y'all know how good the bf smells but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have any special beard shampoo. you generally treat them like hair. using standard products,Condition every time your in the shower, shampoo every once in awhile. People with drier skin use a moisturizer to prevent beard itch. When you go out you put some beard oil or cream in. The amount of people who don't clean their beard is staggering however

I'm confused by beard wash, is it something you are using in the shower bosma? this sounds like a damned scam

It's like a cream. You put it in before the shower, scrub a lil bit, leave it in for 5-8 minutes, and then rinse it out. I put it on in the shower and treat it like conditioner in that way.

Just out of curiosity how much would you guys say your skincare regimen costs? If you had to go out and replace everything tomorrow.
I want to see how much of a scam lady skincare is.

I steal fancy ladies conditioner and shampoo from my mothers house and spend $15-20 a month on gels and creams for beard and hair
I have to use medicated dandruff shampoo every one in awhile (so sexy) and that costs so much money its insane but thats the scams of big pharma not big cosmetics

Somewhere between 50 and 100 based on sales, coupons, etc but I usually try to shop sales on this kind of thing. E acquires what feels like hundreds of different face masks and I've tried a bunch of them. I have literally no idea how much they cost.

I will say bosma is definitely being scammed on this beard wash nonsense. The beard stuff costs me maybe $25 every 5 or so months? If not longer? It lasts a while and smells good, it's a small luxury. I mostly mooch off of my wife's face masks and renewed hope in a jar but it's purchased with shared finances so I'm not a total asshole.

I don’t get beard wash when shampoo exists and the moisturizer or oil you use would take care of the whole scent aspect, but you do you.

It's just what I've found that works well for me. I'm sure there's a nice oil out there that would do similar things. This largely replaces that since it has the moisturizer in it. It makes the hairs soft, I don't know. I think we're getting a little caught up on the "wash" aspect.

I use this for my beard. Worked well when it was shorter but I've been growing it out and I think I need something with a bit more hold. The guys at Irving Park Barbershop make a wax which I used for a while that is great (and inexpensive) so I might have to switch back to that.

Whatever works for you works for you but the beginning of this conversation is "do men get scammed into expensive needless skin care routines as well" and we found our answer

Regular shampoo for the beard every day, oil like 2-3x a week.
Cetaphil for a facewash and a Cerave lotion every day.
That’s all I do. If I had to replace everything tomorrow it might be $60?

i had fucking terrible acne from like 14 to 22. it sucked. i still use a few different neutrogena things at night just to make sure it doesnt come back (idk if it actually helps) i really should learn to moisturize or use something in the day cause my skin turns to old man leather and gets ripped to pieces in the winter. also i tried eye cream to get rid of my bags but it didnt seem to be worth the money. also it'd help if i ever got any sleep

I currently haven't shaved for over a week for the first time maybe ever. I was thinking of letting it ride but I honestly didn't even think about beard care/having to put some sort of oil/not just washing my face normally until I read all of this and now I kind of want to shave immediately. Can someone link me to a site about like, the most basic beard care tips to maybe sway me from doing that? Cause I like how it's going so far.
I don't think I've used any sort of skin care product whatsoever since high school, other than washing with a lotioned bar of soap and using sunscreen when it's sunny...

Cleanser ($20) and facial/beard oil ($60) and sometimes a night serum ($75) and I also have an eye cream ($48) but I lost it somewhere.
Also helps that just like black don't crack, Asian don't raisin.
