You guys going to your holiday parties this year?
I don't think I'm gonna go to the school party, but I'll go to our department party.

im on our events committee so i kinda have to lol
to be fair ours are usually pretty fun. (whirleyball the first year, top golf last year)
this year we're doing punch bowl social which is always fun but our committee chairman waited so long to put down a deposit that we had to move it to a thursday instead of a friday and we never actually got confirmation that food/booze is included :/

Our holiday party budget has been slashed. Rather than dinner with +1s, we are now an employee-only lunch at Wildfire in River North, with post-lunch drinks. On a Tuesday. :/
To be honest, probably more fun this way, but definitely lower cost.

Punch Bowl Social gives me anxiety every time I'm in there. Place is way way too big and gets too packed for how big it is.
Ours is at Beatrix but I'm gonna be at Joshua Tree when they have it. Bummed to miss it, I would have gone for sure. That's probably me still being in the honeymoon phase with my new job speaking, though. I skipped the last three at my old job.

For our company wide holiday party I'll be out of town, but I'm not sad about it. My team will do some sort of outing I'm sure, I'll try to attend that.

I was actually invited out to our company holiday party this year - normally it's smaller and only in-office employees attend. Figures I can't go. Would have loved for an excuse to visit Chicago right before Christmas, especially on the company-dime.

I'll cash my two drinks in at the open bar and then leave. We do a toy drive at the party so I'll at least show up to make our donation.

I'm going to mine, since they have it at hotel in Rosemont.
Plus, I just found out that our department lunch that was supposed to be at Fogo de Chao has been cancelled, and we'll probably have like pizza in a conference room instead. Yeah.

HR kinda has to go. Will someone get drunk and tell me off for disciplining them? Stay tuned.

Ours is at River Roast and we'll be there for at least part of it. Our group has a lunch party, too, where we're out the rest of the day. It was at Remington's last year, and I think that's usually the case.

They cancelled our office sponsored holiday party but that usually takes place in January for some reason I don’t entirely understand. I’m probably just gonna father some coworkers and get drunk with them or something

Every single office party I've ever been to has been more stress than fun.

Bummed you won't be at the 2 hour in-the-office happy hour holiday party. By the way - I think we are officially moving to your office toward the end of January. Still not sure which floor.

My work just sent out a save the date for December 6th. Apparently it’ involves a lot of day time drinking, so I’ll go for a while.

Yes, but free booze around work people is not the same as free booze around non-work people.
