Oh my god the movie is long I forgot about both times seeing the Ready Player One trailer. What a piece of shit. It's like Spielberg had to do the opposite of The Post.

It was good. Far less predictable than the force awakens. Some of the space battles got a little samey but that's just general fatigue with star wars.
Could have done without the big Leia scene.

Been about two hours since I saw it and am still not sure where I stand. Kudos on the ambition here, though the task in TFA was more about righting the ship and here was about the future. At the same time, right now I am not invested in the new generation enough to give a huge shit about episode 9 and beyond, but I'll surely come around by then.
That Leia floating scene was dumb.

all this trailer talk. we got Infinity War and Fallen Kingdom. i expected like 20 minutes of trailers on thursday night, but they didn't mess around at the davis.
i enjoyed The Last Jedi, but agree with some of the criticisms i've seen so far.

Third time seeing it and I was struck by how much Poe Dameron looks like Jake Johnson from New Girl. Oscar Isaac does not look like Jake Johnson, but Poe Dameron really does.

Saw it last night in IMAX 3D. Didn't add a whole lot, but the space stuff looked pretty cool.
A lot of people are 'theorizing' that Kylo Ren is lying about Rey's parents and that JJ will retcon it back into significance in IX, which is stupid. Rey confirms it, even. The reveal actually contributes to the emotional crux of the movie. Fans need to stop.

It wasn't the worst SW film.
Regardless of stupid internet hype and debatable opinions, I think I'm sufficiently satisfied with how Luke's arc was handled. That was my main concern. Only "surprise" that I thought was effectively handled, really. Oh, Leia being present for the entirety was indeed a special treat.

just saw it and oh my God i loved nearly every second of it. so incredibly well done in every way.
I'll write more tomorrow when i get back but I'll just say i think i echo all of irving's sentiments and why i like this one more than TFA
