oh i apparently blinked at the wrong time and missed a shot but did rey have the jedi order books in the falcon? is that what finn saw when he was closing the hatches?
so yoda and luke had the peace of mind that the history of jedi was dissolved and rey's gonna go fuck it up to stop kylo from starting a new sith organization with the students he took from luke? for that second part, yoda fires up the jedi tree and luke gets nostalgic for the jedi books but then yoda says something like "there is nothing there that the girl does not already have", which made me think he knew rey stole the books .

I just thought that Yoda meant that Rey already possessed all the talent or power she needed, and because of that she didn't need the books. I didn't see her in possession of the books during either the first or second viewing I had of TLJ.

Porgs.
For the actual record RIGHT when she takes off from Ahch-To the first shot of her in the Falcon she is closing that drawer under the bunk, so it is subletly but basically spelled out that Rey took them.

f'real tho can we appreciate how gorgeous
the entire throne room stuff was? that crazy red and black contrast, the full head to toe shots during the battle, snoke actually looking pretty great as far as cgi renders go, a cool way of using symmetrical force grasp that doesnt involve over dramatic headshots, the fact that Rian was just like "fuck this Snoke red herring dude. y'all here for Kylo anyway," etc.
im gonna be swooning over that whole act for a long time.

This random internets comment made me lol: Let’s redeem Phasma...
J/k ledge kill! It’s like if boba fett had crawled out of the Sarlaac only to immediately comically fall into a second sarlaac pit the next moment. Bad-um-cha!

Boba didn't deliver Han Solo to Vader and then transport his carbonite cell to Jabba? Sir!

Boba didn't deliver Han Solo to Vader and then transport his carbonite cell to Jabba? Sir! he followed the Falcon to Cloud City then told Vader where to crash a dinner party. then he just floated a defenseless concrete slab to a mobster made of pizza in the desert. the bounty hunter subplot in ESB never made a lot of sense other than for the costume director to show off his ideas for Bond-rejected gadgets and armor. RotJ only further makes Boba looks like a waste of a space. sorry i just never got into the Fett obsession that most SW fans have and that's okay.

Yes but his final fight is even more of an anticlimax than Phasma's.

I thought I was good with a single viewing but you guys are making me think otherwise. Honestly, I was so caught off guard by the first viewing that I needed a second viewing to really figure out how I felt about it. There were no more OMGWHAT moments, like the one with Leia.

Phasma is the weakest "elite" type villain in any SW movie ever. Good job casting a female villain and making her a total pushover. She got beat down by one of her former trainees who just broke out of the hospital with a sliced open back. Okay. She's real smart and tough with that chrome armor! Let's subvert expectations by not only not answering questions from prior movies, but let's also flush these newer, equally fascinating characters and subplots right down the toilet. I imagine a pouty lipped RJ in a meeting with Disney execs with his arms folded and going "I don't wanna! No! Mine!"

That's obviously not how the meeting went because they gave him three brand new movies. You're part of the problem.
I'll admit he dropped the ball on Finn. But he did great things with Kylo, Rey, and Poe. And Hux. Fuck Hux. Palpatine had no backstory until the prequels so all this Snoke hate is absurd.

i think Finn's story is fine just not as good as the others and the Cato Bight story is very unnecessary unless it's playing into Rian's new movies (even so, could've cut it down a bit, i think)
i love that Hux became a punching bag.
and everyone bitched about Snoke in 7 because "he's just another Sidious" so i don't know how this twist doesn't work for them. there's just no winning with us SW fans.

The problem I had with the Snoke thing is they built him up as this near-equal to Palpatine, and it could have taken them all of a minute in the movie to explain who he is, how he rose to power, how he is so powerf-oops, never mind, he's dead.
Most likely just Disney trying to have an excuse to add Episode VI.IIV to their schedule...

Not that it matters but Snoke definitely seemed stronger than Palpatine to me.

i wouldnt be surprised to see a 6.5 kinda film to explain the bridge but it's annoying that it won't come out until long after 7-9 are done and we gotta deal with a Ron Howard movie in the meantime.
i don't mind Snoke's backstory not being completely fleshed out but a little nod about it would be nice, so maybe 9 will clear that up.
we obv dont see a lot of his powers but i wouldnt say there's anything to clearly show he was stronger than Sidious. Sidious dismantled most of the jedi order both physically and politically (we can talk about the quality of that writing all day of course) and we only ever saw Snoke use a bit of force grip and a small lightning bursts. it's hard to quantify.
maybe if they can explain how he created starkiller base...

LOL! How am I part of a "problem"? I'm not tweetraging at Rian Johnson or review bombing Rotten Tomatoes. I didn't hate the movie. It's just a little mind-boggling to me that so many people walked out of the theater and went "Welp. That's definitely the best SW movie." Alright. Cool! I disagree!

Surprise, Surprise: The ‘Alt-Right’ Claims Credit For ‘Last Jedi’ BacklashA Facebook page called Down With Disney’s Treatment of Franchises and its Fanboys is claiming responsibility for tanking the Rotten Tomatoes audience score for the latest “Star Wars” film, alleging that it used bots in a concerted attack against the Rian Johnson-directed movie.
On Tuesday, we sent a direct message to the page, whose moderator responded almost immediately. He explained that he’s upset with “Star Wars” producers for, “among other things,” introducing more female characters into the franchise’s universe.
Throughout the course of our conversation, the self-identified member of the “alt-right” claimed that Poe Dameron (played by Oscar Isaac) is a “victim of the anti-mansplaining movement,” that Poe and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) are in danger of being “turn[ed]” gay, and that men should be reinstated as rulers of “society.”lmaoooooooo never thought star wars fans could get more embarassing

anytime someone uses the SJW abbreviation in an argument online, i just assume they're altright trollers and move along. since no one else on the planet uses that phrase or views it as a negative quality.

Poe banging Luke's force ghost would be a legit storyline for Episode IX

Of all my issues with TLJ, none of it has to do with potential gayness or too many females. When exactly can we start hanging the alt-right? Please let me know.
