Kopech struck out the side in the second. Ton of pitches to get there, but he's clearly riding on adrenaline right now. Fun to see that ballpark so lively again.
Obviously it's in a rain delay now.

Damn I really liked Avilan for no reason. After trading him and Soria, Hahn basically flipped Jake Peter, a very bad prospect, for three young pitchers. Not too shabby. |

Sox are going to have an unreal bullpen soon. This dude they just picked up is starting for some inexplicable reason but he's got relief in his future. Big fan of picking up as many options as possible, but Fry, Burdi, Bummer, Hamilton are all legitimate options for a very good bullpen next season.

I know he's getting shelled in AAA, but I would also add Fulmer to that mix of relievers.

Relative to what he was doing, I guess. He's at almost a .300 BA over the last 15 games. Still doesn't walk at all.

That is a ton better. It would be nice if he made the jump at the plate from "abysmal" to "bad".

I think he's the only good CF option until Robert is ready, so here's hoping. Even if he can sustain a .250 average plus his defense he'd be a value-add.

cole hamels gave up 1 run and pitched a complete game tonight. at least one starting pitching acquisition is paying off this season.
