If the Sox and Philly are within a decent range, Chicago is obviously a better market for him than Philly. The Yankees can't match what either team will offer.

White Sox are apparently discussing Edwin Encarnacion with the M's. I don't understand how he can fit on the roster unless the White Sox are giving up on Manny and sending Alonso back to Seattle?

Hahn seems committed to Palka. EE is clearly not worth the $25M he's going to get next year. If the M's want to dump his contract I imagine they'd either need to eat a large portion or take another bad contract back in return (or both).

Which means that Machado fella probably won't be going there, right? I don't think this deal impacts their pursuit of Manny. Tulo is more likely there to fill in until Didi gets back, and then assume the role Neil Walker held last year. |

Didn't know how good of a season Grandal was having until now. That dude made himself a shitload of money by going with the 1-year deal. Hopefully the Sox have a chance.
