I'm mostly excited that they are willing to spend money. Not getting my hopes up for Machado/Harper but there are a lot of guys in the next tier that I think would be awesome fits as the Sox get ready to contend.

I must be missing the "source" in that article. He's only saying the Sox are a possibility because of their payroll, so I'm not really considering that a strong indicator.
Anyway, I'd love to see the Sox go after Donaldson and McCutchen on 3 year deals. Both fit perfectly with what the team needs.

If the Sox did go after Machado and/or Harper they'd have to include an insane amount of opt outs and a lot more money to beat out the Dodgers and Yankees.
