QOTSA are out for Coachella now with a show announced at The Forum on 2/17. I'm starting to get a little concerned on if there's any rock on this lineup at all, given all the bands we've ruled out already.

To be fair there wasn't much rock on the top lines of the 2017 lineup either. Seems like they are moving away from it.

yeah i was gonna do a silly mock but it's such a shot in the dark right now it'd result in an equally silly conversation of wild speculation.
Bey is good enough for me rn

Coachella is getting either a Mayer Hawthorne set or a Tuxedo set.

Saw them in Nashville for the first time in May but wouldn't complain if they were on the lineup.

It's more likely that King Krule plays this fest than Fraz.

Goldenvoice's Coachella festival grossed $114.6 million in 2017, marking the first time a reoccurring festival franchise has crossed the $100 million mark for Billboard Boxscore.
The top gross of all time still belongs to Goldenvoice's 2016 festival Desert Trip, which grossed a staggering $160 million over two weekends in October 2016. In May Goldenvoice's Paul Tollett told Billboard. "We're not doing Desert Trip this year. We loved 2016 Desert Trip -- that was a special moment in time. Maybe someday in the future we'll do something similar."
That means the honor for highest-grossing Boxscore of all-time for a reoccurring festival continues to belong to Coachella, which has been recognized as the top festival of the year by Billboard Boxscore since 2011. The 2017 outing had an attendance uptick of about 52,000 people over the previous year, growing from 99,000 per weekend in 2016 (April 15-17 & 22-24) to 125,000 for this year's festival (April 14-16 & 21-23). Goldenvoice was able to boost attendance after receiving an approval by Indio, California officials to expand the footprint of the event held each year at the Empire Polo Club.

I've only been once in 2016 and thought it was fairly accessible, but an extra 25,000 sounds a lot ... and there definitely seemed to be a lot more complaints this year (on Reddit at least) about it being way more crowded. I'll be heading back in 2018, but am a little hesitant about that many extra people.

the east side of the grounds were noticeably larger but it felt far more spacious to me than years past. it was logistically their best one yet (i've been going since 2012.)
then again i probably didn't go to a lot of the same sets as the reddit crowd

I didn't go this year but I don't like that the moved the outdoor stage. It was always nice to be able to watch both main and outdoor stage sets from the same beer garden.
