Even though they both toured I would argue that AC/DC in 2015 and GNR in 2016 were still out of left field since they went against the grain of what’s become a typical Coachella headliner. meh. 2014 had Muse (arena) and Arcade Fire (ummm kinda arenas but probably shouldnt be.) 13 had RHCP and the britrock stuff. 12 had TBK and RH. it's really just the last 2 years that coachella has gone with bigger pop top lines and if Bey hadn't cancelled in 2017 i wonder if they wouldve had another pop act lined up for 2018 or if would've been some other genre. weeknd and eminem both headlining this year was dumb tho no argument I was referring to GNR and AC/DC being classic rock acts which Goldenvoice hadn’t booked in awhile

Isn't Gambino gonna be on the final stretch of his final tour? Seems like that'll be a pretty big deal. he just cancelled a ton of stuff because of the injury so i assume there will be a lot of make up dates next year (including probably ACL) He cancelled dates that are all slated for the end of this year, I believe. Regardless I think people will be very into his show there

The whole "final tour" thing from Gambino seems like a gimmick.
You know he will comes back in 5-7 years tops.

i know money talks and it probably wont actually affect anything but i'd be curious to see if the kanye news causes any other acts to drop off the lineup

I don't really go to Coachella for the headliners necessarily, but I'd be happy to see Gambino or Timberlake again. Would really like that Aphex Twin rumor to be true.

I feel like this is really early for these headliners to be out there already?
I don't hate that top 3 but I'm not in love with it. It certainly doesn't help that 2 of those 3 are coming off the worst albums of their careers (+all of Kanye being Kanye)
Kinda baffling to me they didn't get like a Rihanna or some other female headliner but Chella gonna Chella I guess
