i actually got 1.
it was weird. i was 90% through the queue when the liner said there was no weekend 1 left. maybe it just meant for people who were just now joining the queue?
i got through easy enough and got my shuttle pass and the payment plan.

paul definitely seemed a little offended in all the interviews that asked him if coachella had abandoned rock music after booking 3 pop artists this year.
could definitely see metallica or foos finally playing saturday.
gambino and monkeys sharing the line friday.
rihanna or jt sunday.

Shall we fire up the 'ole "festival bubble has burst" machine again? based on this but also the fact that W1 seemed harder to get through this year, im wondering if the market of "two weekends" has just finally died down. W2 doesnt get streamed, on the whole gets less guests, and the park is torn up and dusty by the time W1 is done. kids might just be done with trying to go W2 (or both weekends, which apparently on reddit is a very common thing. fuck me even trying to fathom paying for that) |

great another year of speculating metallica will inexplicably play coachella im more on team foos or even PJ at this point but metallica should always be considered a possibly because they're one of the few rock bands that still play massive arenas that havent played coachella and are from CA. GnR and ACDC went over well with the crowds so no reason metallica doesnt fit the bill at this point -- but to your point, yes there's obviously nothing suspiciously noteworthy yet. definitely a high hope in my mind |
