Biden changed a policy about what constitutes an "eligible payment" for loan forgiveness, and I basically just got a year's worth of free payments added to my account. Only have 20 more payments to go until my loans are forgiven.
Dude basically saved me 15 grand.

Thankfully it sounds like he'll make a full recovery. Seeing him at Cain's tomorrow, probably will be his last show for a minute.

Taco Bell is definitely hardcore adjacent. They’ve had Scowl and Turnstile in ads recently.

What are the cool brands now
Vans and Red Bull and probably some others used to just do cool shit cause they had more money than god. Is House of Vans even still a thing anymore? The people who make fun of that online now are the people who would line up to go to those shows

Guys I do not get your love for Militarie Gun. Seems appropriate for a Taco Bell commercial.

Guys I do not get your love for Militarie Gun. Seems appropriate for a Taco Bell commercial. It's a good rock record in the year 2023, that's the only thing I get out of it. Fun to listen to. 2021 Board Album of the Year Turnstile was all over Taco Bell commercials and Taco Bell rules. So are you against fun guitar music, cheap Tex-Mex or do you not bleed the Red, White and Blue brother?

Pretty bizarre that this guy decided to do this outside of a moe. show, but he was obviously not mentally well to begin with

Together with my first time watch of Parks and Rec, I've been listening to "Analyze Phish" (RIP Harris). It's been pretty enjoyable, and, I think, does a decent job of breaking down why people don't like Phish (they are afraid to have fun or like silly things). They needed more lady Phish fans on the show though.

That would have been good. He could've asked why they all settle for the most disgusting looking men I've ever seen in my life.

They needed more lady Phish fans on the show though. I listened to most of this podcast when Harris passed away. I was only barely a Phish fan (way more of a Harris fan) but some of the conversations really stuck in my head (Harris talking about 'getting Zeroed' when they play CZ, etc). I intend to listen again Phish has always been a band I've immensely respected, so I've tended to 'follow' Phish setlists or at least check in on them, just to see if anything really crazy is going on, even though I don't even fully know what all the 'something crazy's could be. When I checked in to see what their NYE gag was this time and saw all the Gamehendge stuff, I looked into it and it opened up a totally different door into their career. I don't really care much about Gamehendge (even though its cool that they staged it in full) but ended up reading so, so much about their history. I never knew about the audience participation / 'signals,' what it meant to be 1.0/2.0/3.0, and even though I'd heard of the Clifford Ball due to its official release, I had no idea it was Phish's own event. Cue me reading about / watching stuff from Big Cypress, Great Went, Coventry..... To be honest I am having a personally difficult start to the new year and having something this vastly interesting to listen to and learn about has increased my tolerance for Phish ten-fold.

Oh wow, you did do a deep dive! I am proudly 1.0, but still consider myself a casual fan and there's been a lot I've learned "late" - when I was first getting into Phish there was barely internet, and even if I read something about the Great Went (in Doniac Schvice, of course) it would never have occurred to me to actually go. I met a lot of my festival/touring friends in online forums around 2005/2006 during the hiatus, and when Phish returned their forums were pretty dickish/misogynistic, so I never stuck around them....and as a result never really coalesced the kind of crew that would have led to me really learning the lore - and seeing them more often (I do have some awesome lady friends now who have carved out a great space in the scene, and I wish I'd met them earlier). I hope your year only gets better and I'm still hoping for some summer tour dates. I'd love a long weekend at Alpine again.

I remember going down to Eastern Illinois University for the track and field state meet and being divebombed by cicadas walking between the dorms. It was traumatizing. Hate those little fuckers.

it's a good time to note the owner of middlebrow named his first daughter cicada.
