I understand you wouldn't have received it as a lump sum but did it really cost 20k to move you?

Neader, do you have an EAP that includes free legal consultation? You could run the question by them and, if needed, perhaps get a free/inexpensive face-to-face consult with an employment attorney in your area. That would also help give you some clarity.
It seems to be bordering on indentured servitude for a company to say, "You have to move frequently if you want this job, but every time we need you to go to another location, you're on the hook for $10k in moving expenses for another two years."

The laundromat I usually go to is backed up by like five hours because Taylor Swift's entire production staff dropped off every piece of clothing involved in the tour, fuck you Taylor Swift.

I'm still kind of confused how they got stranded that far into the cave system, but it's been good to see all of the positive developments.

I will say, caving is one of the few adventure hobbies I like and I tend to look out for it and have done some sketchy ones (especially the times i've been lucky enough to travel internationally) and this (with the otherwise irrelevant addition of having a rounder body type and no money to travel) has definitely decreased my desire to do it again lul.

Kentucky is a fantastic state for caving - had never really done any hiking/climbing along those lines before I lived there. There's actually a pretty big caving festival just outside of Louisville.

I went caving exactly once and had a nightmare similar to these events repeatedly pretty much every night before and after. Hope they get everyone out ok. Also worthy of note is that Elon Musk is a tremendous douchebag and is mentioning all these “cool inventions” which are just a series of useless ideas and half prototypes that could theoretically help people who get stuck in caves after this event. One of them is, no joke, a giant tube that could inflate and be waterproof so people can get through. Another is a submarine with attached MP3 player. It makes him look like a major opportunist and also an idiot.

yeah there was a bit on reddit the other day about how he could build a submarine for the kids and when i see a tunnel this size i'm thinking that's a pretty dumb idea

I am a big nope on caves after my Iceland lava tube meltdown but have been super intrigued by this story. I'm amazed they seem to be getting everyone out.

Oh hey I had a meltdown in a cave too except in New Mexico. Totally forgot about that. Might have been why I had nightmares about the second trip

Hopefully this is all a smoke screen in an attempt to trap Elon in a submarine under a cave and than we never have to hear or seen from him again

You did the caving in Budapest right? I did that and thought it'd be just walking around, maybe I'd have to bend down a little bit to watch my head. Nope, I was doing this shit. for three hours I didn't realize what I had gotten myself into until it was too late and I didn't want to ruin it for my group so I kept going. It fucking sucked. It was so tight, I was out of shape, on my hands and knees crawling the whole time because there was hardly any opportunity to walk. At one time I felt like I was stuck like Winnie the Pooh. Never again.
