Comfort Station is bringing local bands and Goose Island beer to the Logan Square Monument the last Saturday of the month for its annual summer fundraiser.
The fundraiser, billed as a "event with a casual, open atmosphere" rather than a traditional street festival, kicks off at 1 p.m. Sept. 30.
General admission is free, but wristbands, which include access to the beer garden, cost $20. The fundraiser was organized by Comfort Station in partnership with Tall Pat Records and Empty Bottle Presents.
The live music lineup currently includes Nobunny, Quarter Mile Thunder, Negative Scanner and Ryley Walker. More local bands will be added in the coming days. Goose Island will supply the beer.

I tweeted at Goose Island asking when they would reveal the "special guest" for tomorrow. They replied, "Maybe tomorrow morning. Maybe we won't know until tomorrow at 7:30pm!"
If it's someone good, hopefully they don't announce it at all tomorrow. I fully expect this thing to be a clusterfuck as is.

I was over there this morning. It's a pretty huge space and the soundcheck was super fucking loud for The Record Company so it might not be too bad. However it only seemed like there were a couple places to get a beer which will surely be a clusterfuck

I've gone the last couple years, unless they expanded the footprint it will be very full and very crowded tomorrow. The heat is not going to help.
They do put a bunch of random beer stands throughout the fest though, so finding a beer (though not necessarily the best beer) isn't that hard. The line for the rare beer always moves fast as well.

If they're worried about it being too packed maybe they could announce Arcade Fire as the special guest. That would probably keep the crowds away.

somehow they managed to completely fuck up vic's sound on two starts despite everything else sounding great all weekend. it was fucking weird.
Malcolm London fucking killed it tho and joey pup was good and the 20 minutes of animal collective i saw were the best 20 minutes of animal collective I've seen (still bad)

Got there at 6:45ish and it was at cap. Waited for thirty minutes and barely moved, so we dipped. Looking forward to that Revolution fest next weekend
