Strasburg declined pitching in game 4 because he wasn't feeling well... He is going to be ripped for his competitiveness if this is true

Strasburg declined pitching in game 4 because he wasn't feeling well... He is going to be ripped for his competitiveness if this is true there is something else going on here. dusty first said strasburg was well enough to throw a bullpen session yesterday, which was more the reason why he wouldn't be able to pitch game 4. but then dusty said the bullpen session was actually monday, though it didn't matter cause a sick strasburg wouldn't pitch game 4. if roark gets lit up, strasburg and dusty are going to get torched. if roark is good, i think that eases their pressure a little bit.

So annoying that the game starts at 3:00 today Yeah, I'm taking the afternoon off. Getting really annoyed with these day games. Thank god it wasn't like this last year at least and won't be against the Dodgers if the Cubs advance. Who will be the Cubs' opponent if they advance to the NLCS? Could've sworn the Dodgers won their series against the Diamondbacks.

It is the Dodgers. What he meant by that is next series wont have any early games since it is against a west coast team

scott boras must have been fucking pissed after yesterday and made the nats try and fix it:
General manager Mike Rizzo said Strasburg had "flu-like symptoms" a couple days after his start on Friday, and was "feeling really bad" on Monday.
Strasburg took anti-inflammatories and took fluid IVs, andwhen the rainout happened he told Rizzo he'd "give you everything he got, but he doesn't know how much he has."
Rizzo said that "wasn't enough" to convince them to replace Roark.
Nationals manager Dusty Baker said Tuesday that Roark would start because Strasburg was under the weather, citing the change in climate, the hotel air conditioning and Chicago mold.
Rizzo said they gave Strasburg a higher dose of anti-biotics, and Wednesday morning "he felt much more like Stephen Strasburg."
Strasburg told Baker he wanted to start, and the Nats agreed to give him the ball.
Rizzo denied that Strasburg told the Nats he wouldn't pitch on Tuesday night.
"The statement was inaccurate," he said.

Yesterday sucked, but the beauty of baseball is it is a new day. Nervous optimism going into tonight!

I'm not rooting against the Cubs, but Dusty Baker should be fired for leaving Scherzer in so long.

I felt good about the Cubs chances when Ron Darling decided to crush DC with the "5 years ago today the Nats gave up a big lead and lost a game 5" immediately after they went up 4 - 1, but damn, that was nerve racking
Go Cubs! The NLCS is Lackey time

such a thrilling, heartstopping game to watch. pretty terrified about the pitching situation now for the nlcs, but we'll do what we can do. hopefully the starters can come out strong again and the bullpen can get a bit of a mental reset.

Go Cubs! The NLCS is Lackey time I think the starter decision is really going to depend on if the Cubs feel comfortable with Lester starting game 2 on "short rest" after his bullpen outing Wednesday.
Quintana didn't throw very many pitches and could be O.K. to start tomorrow. If he does, Lester would be next in line and both Arrieta and Hendricks would be fully rested for game 3 on Tuesday.

yeah I'd be a little worried with Lester going on 3 days rest after putting in 3 2/3 + 55 pitches in relief. I'd kind of like him getting some rest . that game 4 delay definitely screwed us I also just want to see Lackey get a shot at some October magic. He had a nice September

I was able to go to a 3 hour-long dinner that started at 7:30 and make it home for the end of the game. That's crazy and probably shouldn't happen, but I'm glad I saw the 8th and 9th. So stressful, but a lot of fun.

I am down to the Astros as the only team I give a damn about at this point. Seriously hate the other teams (Yankees/Dodgers) or are completely indifferent (Cubs). A Yankees-Dodgers/Cubs series could be only the second series I wouldn't have watched since 1975.

This year is weird cuz while I hate the Yankees as a general rule I actually like *this* Yankees team. I don't think they'll get past Houston, but the ALCS should be fun.
