Seconded on Party Girl...I can't imagine having a Posey marathon without that... also House of Yes and Broken English...the marathon needs more films where she is the actual lead. Party Girl, House of Yes, Broken English, and Clockwatchers sounds like a much better marathon after researching these suggestions. I imagine Best in Show will still factor in as well. Maybe that could spin it off into a Christopher Guest marathon

Definitely keep a Chris Guest in there. Her role is bigger in Best in Show but she steals the scene a few times in Guffman.

Chicken Run introduced me to the Blues Brothers via “Flip Flop Fly” - after we saw that movie my dad started playing us Briefcase Full of Blues in the car.

Then we got about halfway through Presumed Innocent on HBO before falling asleep. Finished this today. Consistently “not bad” and the ending could have really packed a punch if it hadn’t gone on and on with multiple monologues to kill the impact of the outcome.

Picked this out because I thought it would be the Denis film to break me and convince me that she isn't good but it's brilliant and frustrating in all the best ways. Super minimal dialogue and it could probably exist reasonably with even less. Once the connections start to hit, goddamn ![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c1/The_Intruder_FilmPoster.jpeg)

Halfway through The Good Son on HBO and so far it’s just Macaulay Culkin taking fit pics and calling everyone “king”

I saw it back in high school and remember thinking “This is alright!” But I was like 18 so that information may no longer be accurate

I watched Joker. It was fine, Joaquin Phoenix really did a great job with playing a mentally unstable character.
His medical condition of laughing - was this something they made up for the movie, or is it part of Joker's history in the comics?

I think “The Killing Joke” is the most widely “accepted” Joker origin. Pretty sure the laughing thing isn’t in there.

![](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/08/Twenty_Feet_From_Stardom_poster.jpg) i liked the Irishman more than i expected based on what i'd heard from others. really long, but it generally kept my interest. 20 Feet was fine, but was that a relatively weak documentary year for it to win the oscar? i've seen similar docs on pbs about, like, session musicians that quality-wise weren't too far off 20 Feet.
