I can't find the article but essentially Westworld season 1 was delayed so they could rewrite the show and fully map out 4 complete seasons which is why the original 2015 release date got pushed to 2016. Then the writers had to delay season 2 and rewrite it since the Westworld subreddit 100% predicted the season 2 plot.

I've enjoyed the second half of the season more than the first half. Last 3 episodes have been pretty good. Also might be because of a shift in focus off of Dolores.

I liked the finale a lot but I’ve accepted that at this point this show is just doing random shit whether or not it has an ounce of plausibility or causes any holes in the plot. It’s good af what it does but season two was not as good as season 1 by a wide margin. Really hoping they focus stuff better next season

I liked the season overall, but still prefer the first season. Echoing what Bosma said, it's just going to try to uproot what you expect just for the sheer confusion factor. Nolan's obsessed with timelines as a plot device, and I think it worked better in the first season than it did this go round. The finale was good, not great to me. This show is at it's peak when it has a direction, and this season had that mostly in the latter half.

Season 3 has loads of potential, so we'll be tuning in for sure.

I was overjoyed at Dolores leaving as Hale, only to be disappointed to see her back in her old body at the end. If that's even part of the timeline after she escapes or not, I'm just so sick of Evan Rachel Wood.

I like that there's more backstory to William, to flesh out his character more, but there's so many inconsistencies that it makes it hard to actually like him. Ed Harris is great as always, but is he a fuckin Terminator? 5 shots, a mangled hand, a gaping hole in his arm from digging for circuits, plus countless other injuries. I know he acts as the anchor a lot, but it doesn't make it seem tough or resilient, just lazy writing.

It'd be nice if Mauve was actually dead, as I think her character ran it's course. She was my favorite for sure, but it got a little stale there towards the end. Hopefully that's over and they can introduce new characters in S3.

I did not like the finale. Big fan of the episodes that focused on the backstory for individual characters, though.

The whole god mode thing with Maeve and Clementine was really stupid. It was used to cool effect with the samurai episode, but otherwise it was a dumb aspect of the story.

Which show's most reason season was a bigger disappointment, Game of Thrones or Westworld?

I don't watch either show but apparently everyone in my life does and it seems like quite a few people were very peeved with both shows this year.

Game of Thrones went off the rails a bit because they had to abandon the books. I don't think this is all that comparable, especially in terms of hype.

Just finished the first ep of S3. It's way more Blade Runnery than previous seasons but I still dug it. Dolores seems way less irritating than last season.

I just watched as well and I feel a little lost with all the new characters and plot lines etc. I'm about to read The Ringer recap which will hopefully help me sort some of that out.
