i didn't realize before this morning that this season is only eight episodes. hopefully, the homestretch stays at the level of the last two weeks. Yeah I imagine they are going to have to pack a lot into the next 3 weeks with all the questions they have now raised. I'm totally fine with the shorter season, I'd rather that than a bunch of unnecessary filler episodes.

I'm enjoying this season so far, but this last episode was a different beast, and definitely stands out - in a mostly positive way. The increased action doesn't do much for me, but it was Aaron Paul that made the episode great. Some of the music choices (like on the beach) came off a little awkward and unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, still engaged and enjoying the show, this season just feels like it's trying very hard to separate itself from the last two seasons by taking a more futuristic sci-fi action film approach, instead of its original approach as that of an intelligent science fiction thriller. Not sure its achieved either of those 100% but it's still entertaining.

the board meeting scene was dumb. but the last scene should set up a wild last two episodes for this season.

The finale was pretty good I guess, but this was still my least favorite season. I'm not sure if they were paying homage to Fight Club or unintentionally ripping off Fight Club. The homage thing has been done already though so I'm not sure if they'd really just want to copy Mr. Robot or whatever. I think they need to wrap this up with the next season.

i did not care for the heavy homage or this season very much. i liked episodes 5 and 6 most, but it took a while to get rolling and the ending didn't land with me at all. i am so tired of the "they weren't trying to harm us, they were trying to help us" trope.

This show has already jumped the shark for me but my predictions so far based on S4 E1: Manhattan is the digital world, LA is the real world. William [Host] is trying to get Christina (aka Dolores) to decrypt the encryption key.
