Hi spoilers below but sort of mild ones but I still recommend waiting until after the movie before you read them
I'd honestly kind of love maybe like a Disney+ series about how people dealt with the snap, that takes place during those five years. Like a more down to earth drama sort of series.
Also I hope one of the next MCU movies or series kind of touches on the complications of just returning half the population to Earth (presumably at the same age as when they were snapped) five years later when the planet has already moved on in a lot of ways
I'm super satisfied with the MCU right now after this movie and would be happy calling it a day but there's still a lot of room for some interesting stuff spun off from this movie.

Went to a BB/BS event today, and kids were intentionally trying to spoil the movie for me.
Kids. Are. Assholes.

I really had planned to watch Endgame after I caught up to the last couple I missed but given that field conditions canceled previously committed sports events for the weekend we are giving this one a go later this afternoon.
So despite having seen virtually every other Marvel movie pre 2018 I am going into this one having seen nothing since Black Panther besides Captain Marvel.

i was very careful on friday to avoid spoilers and went to a 10am show yesterday pretty much completely fresh. i did not even see a full trailer. i enjoyed it quite a bit. there were a couple points where i looked at my watch thinking "how much time are they going to waste on this?" and usually it was taken care of pretty well or at least quickly.
one person who went with us had not seen Infinity War and got a very quick summary on the way into the movie. even they liked it without a lot of context.

I don't think my thoughts are spoiler heavy but just in case I did like it. But Infinity War felt more like a climax to me and this was more of a resolution/fallout. Infinity War definitely felt a lot more intense, serious, and like more was at stake. Which is fine, I still enjoyed this, but with this being the climax I thought it'd have a similar tone. Thanos and the army showing up at the end in the present day kinda felt rushed? Just seemed like a huge and sudden shift from fun times traveling through space and time to fighting for the universe in seconds. But at the end of the day it's a mega blockbuster and who cares, it totally succeeded in that and was excellent. Extremely happy they didn't get too tied up in particulars behind time travel as that can get annoying. Like Wretched said just go along with the ride.

Also next to me was a mother and two year old whose daughter kept talking throughout the whole thing. When I looked over at she'd tell her to shush and she'd be quiet for a little while then right back at it. She wouldn't be quiet during Tony's death which like totally ruined the whole moment for me Then she let her run around and crawl on the floor of the theatre. Ewwwwwww. Also how much do you think Audi shelled out for that like 10 second still shot of the ride?

That was terrific. Just about the best ending to this series that I could have hoped for. I almost balled when the recording of Stark was played to his daughter.

Piling on to say I loved it too. Glad I went Thursday night, *that* part of the final battle was so hype. I saw it again Friday morning and the crowd was way more tame but still couldn’t help going crazy at that part.

I enjoyed it, it wasn't my favorite in the series (definitely liked Infinity War better, Ragnarock and probably Winter Soldier better), but I enjoyed it. I was never into the Avengers comics growing up, I was a much bigger fan of the X-Men and most of the DC titles. So... the big Iron Man death scene really didn't hit me the way it did my wife and daughter.
But I really loved fat Thor, and I liked the new version of Hulk too.

I liked it about as much as I thought I'd like it. Which is to say I enjoyed it, but that I have always enjoyed the individual character movies more than the Avengers team up movies.
Found the ending to be very off brand for that character but it's Hollywood I get it.

Anybody here see the movie with D-Box or 3D? Worth it? I'm thinking of just doing the Dolby Cinema.

This is a really basic/dumb question but my friend and I were having a whole convo about it and I can’t let it go.... Why doesn’t Tony Stark build Iron Man suits for everyone lol? Or at least, like, Falcon. This came up because he builds Pepper a suit and she kicks ass in it... but she has no combat qualifications. Rhodey is an Air Force pilot so being War Machine makes sense. But if Pepper Potts can just throw on a suit, why wouldn’t Tony just do that for all the c-list Avengers?

for those who have seen it, my thoughts -really wanted more of Tony and Nebula stranded for a while. the opening bit with them was funny but it never got to feel dire before Cap Marvel shows up. -starting the movie with killing Thanos was such a jaw dropping choice. i loved it. -really really loved that they focused on how desperate and desolate the world was for 5 years and didnt just casually be like "meh" about the apocalypse like i feel a lot of movies like this do -fat thor was the funniest thing. as was "bannerhulk" -so much talk about asses and lots more cussing than usual i feel like? i approve -i normally never advocate for "Marvel movies at the Oscars please!" but RDJ seriously pulled off a helluva perfomance on this one and it's the one time i wouldnt mind seeing a superhero movie get a nom to a phenomenal performance -VALKYRIE! HELL YES -the quantum physics explanation lacked a lot but it works. i decided to just not overthink it and enjoy the ride -all of act 2 with the heist was so much fun. the extra scenes from previous movies (and new scenes! loki!!) lots of clever nods and references -- some of which im sure i missed -TILDA FUCKING SWINTON Y'ALL -i thought the Past Nebula/Future Nebula tether thing was...not well edited or explained so that got confusing. i know what they were going for and it has a good payoff but the initial setup for it was very confusing and went by its own rules -everything about the final battle was just "chef kiss." i absolutely got super emotional during several bits -that "women assemble" scene was badass and the dudes on the internet can eat shit over it -beautiful ending. really cant ask for a better way to finish the Stark and Rodgers arc -very surprised there weren't more deaths. i know it's a superhero movie but i really went into this expecting all the OG Avengers to bite it and the phase 2/3 Avengers to take the mantle. which i guess kinda happens but not as severely as i expected. and that's okay! -RIP Natasha you deserve a funeral too overall, loved it! wretched
same. Magic: The Gathering just wrapped up an 11 year story line and only 3 notable characters died (plus 2 trapped in the meditation realm)

Llamaoftime
wouldn't that just be a new version of the Leftovers, but with 50% of the population gone instead of 2%?

Considering all the expectations, plot lines, and characters that this movie had going into it: it was not bad.

It was like getting a real fun treat after sitting through 21 other movies, some of which WERE bad. I was prepared for just about anything and they still managed to surprise me.
The producers of the MCU and most certainly the art departments deserve all sorts of awards in general, imo, but the Academy's One Nod already went to Peter Jackson.

good on them for at least warning everyone of spoilers but they couldve just waited and not shown the teasers last year then, as that kinda gave away part of endgame (obvious as it may have been)
regardless that looks INFINITELY better than the first trailer. way more complex and interesting.
