RDJ must have been offered a boatload of money to get back into this. Disney/Marvel needed a big name to rescue them from the Kang-fiasco. Variety said the Russos are getting paid 80 million to direct the next two movies and that RDJ's salary is "significantly more" than that to act in them. So yeah. |

It would have been kind of nice had they just taken a multi-year break after Endgame - regroup a bit and come back with a more cohesive plan. RDJ and Chris Evans had really good exits and they could have just taken a victory lap. Clearly too much money on the table to ever consider doing that, but a boy can dream. I haven't enjoyed anything Marvel-related since Endgame and nothing coming down the pipeline has me encouraged I will anytime soon.
