I'd love to know what the show looked like before they had to do all the rewrites and reshoots. I think there may have been a better more thought out story in there that got hacked to pieces.

From the showrunner (sorry for all caps)
I’VE BEEN TOLD TO STOP SAYING THAT [REFERING TO THE “LOST” STORYLINE]. I LOVED IT AND IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PANDEMIC. (…) I WANT TO SEE IF WE CAN GET SOME OF THE WRITERS TO DO A BOOK RUN ON IT BECAUSE I THINK KEVIN [FEIGE] DOES IT. I’VE BEEN TOLD TO STOP TALKING ABOUT IT.

This is so good.
I didn't even realize Chloe Zhao was directing The Eternals, the cast is so stacked too. Marvel is just getting too good at everything.

I love all the absurdist stuff. I've been waiting for these shows for decades.

This easily has the potential to be my favorite of the shows so far. Very fun first two episodes

I have no idea where Loki is going but it has been fun getting to where they are and I'm excited to see what is next.

I watched a shitload of these movies leading up to Black Widow because our friends wanted to go see it with us and I officially do not think these are for me lol. I enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok well enough and didn’t like any of the others much at all. Also, Black Widow was in post for so long, how did it have the worst CGI of all time?

I enjoyed the hell out of it and thought the narrative was pretty good. Very near/much blasphemy pertaining to Taskmaster, but I did like Taskmaster. The villain was truly a monster, though, and I liked that angle. I downloaded a bluray rip and watched it on my friends 65", so it was a bit easier to enjoy that way maybe.

After finishing and loving Loki, I want to take a shot at watching all of the important Marvel movies in chronological order. Does anyone have a handy checklist of them which includes Black Widow? I’ve found a few different ones online, but they all contradict each other based on film order. Did watch the first Captain America movie last night which was good.

Really liked Shang-Chi, easily one of the best origin movies in the Marvel universe. The action scenes were really well done and some of the best of the MCU, I liked the whole cast, great score, and very entertaining all around. spoiler i did hate a bit that we went to full on huge CGI monster battle at the end, specially after the fight between Shang-Chi and his father which IMO was really cool, I love the rings as a weapon. But I'd even say that dragon fight was still better than a lot of the CGI clusterfuck sort of things most these comic book films devolve to, though I'd still say it should have ended on an extended hand to hand fight.

I'm normally a very light critic on these films and easily entertained by them but I thought Eternals was bad. I was so bored for a chunk of the movie and it was way too long despite not doing a good job of characterization even in it's length. I think it's my least favorite MCU film since Thor 2 Also it set the stakes way too high at the imminent destruction of Earth which killed the tension because you know they aren't about to blow up Earth and it annoyed me how it made the rest of the MCU feel inconsequential for these much less interesting heroes.
Also continuing the Shang-Chi post above all the action in this film was boring CGI stuff and the deviants felt picked straight out of like the DC stuff like Justice League, just really boring. Bummer after Shang-Chi had some of the best action scenes of the MCU

Watched No Way Home on my flight (doesn't matter where you watch these things since they all look like garbage). Incredibly not good. Just a fan service algorithm for children. Fuck this company.

Oh yeah, I wasn't sure if it was him, so I didn't say anything to be honest, i only knew who that was because they're launching a new game mode in marvel strike force that starts in 4.5 hours and they seem to be the center focus of it, so I looked them up to find out more info about them... and then was surprised to see them briefly

Was just about to post something in the movie thread, but hey, I'll post it here since it wasn't technically a good movie, anyway: So dumb. I loved Ragnarok, but this just leaned too heavily into dumb humor that was for the most part not really that funny and a villain that looked like a ripoff of Voldemort and was way too easily defeated. I thought Bale did a good job, and Crowe as Zeus was kind of fun, but this was such a misfire. I was kind of hyped to watch this, too.

I thought Deadpool and Wolverine was a lot of fun, I can't say it was a great movie but it was thoroughly entertaining, funny (albeit obviously in a juvenile way a lot, but I was able to turn my brain off enough), and some cameos actually got excitement out of me that I didn't think the MCU could do again.
I walked out though really feeling like they just wrang out the last bit of magic they could here, like D&W didn't take itself seriously and made the whole thing a bit of a farce and that was fun and why I enjoyed it but it didn't exactly set me up to want to see more out of the MCU. Specially feel pretty done with Multiverse stuff, this one felt like a good cap on that by taking the concept to an absurd degree, in a way I hoped Multiverse of Madness would but didn't.
And then the next day we got that RDJ news which feels like they are just going to lean into this concept even further despite that there feels like no meat left on the bone, which to me kind of smells desperate as mentioned above. I kinda doubt I see another one of these in theaters again

It would have been kind of nice had they just taken a multi-year break after Endgame - regroup a bit and come back with a more cohesive plan. RDJ and Chris Evans had really good exits and they could have just taken a victory lap. Clearly too much money on the table to ever consider doing that, but a boy can dream. I haven't enjoyed anything Marvel-related since Endgame and nothing coming down the pipeline has me encouraged I will anytime soon.
RDJ must have been offered a boatload of money to get back into this. Disney/Marvel needed a big name to rescue them from the Kang-fiasco.

Secret Wars is the only thing that gives me any kind of hope of something decent coming. Three years to go for that though. I don't know how they're going to squeeze that entire story into one movie though
