Rango don't like it.

It is a very ‘...so what’ show to me. But I keep watching so I guess the joke’s on me.
The sitcom pastiches/parodies aren’t necessarily ‘funny’ enough to be entertaining and the actual superhero-y stuff is just winking build-up to... I don’t care? Probably Doctor Strange 2?

idk i guess i just have to hard disagree with irv/rango cause pretty much since ep 1 i've been invested in Wanda trying to rationalize what happened between the blip and Vision dying and a resurrected Vision trying to figure out the puzzle from the inside. and i think Photon's story has been fine so far albeit a bit frustrating because she's doing the "withholding information for the sake of narrative" shit -- but also now that we've established Hayward is a bad guy i guess that makes a bit more sense. i wouldn't try to argue that it's not contrived af but also it's marvel and has anything since phase 1 not been contrived af? i mean this show (and probably Falcon and Loki as well) is 100% designed to be the bridge that makes sense of Doctor Strange 2 and Spiderman 3 and Thor 4 when the multiverse becomes their main narrative tool to explain pretty much anything and everything that happens after the blip. which we can argue if that's a good or bad thing but if it's the way they're taking the universe, i'm fine with using some of these shows to start introducing the concepts and powers involved. i can see why that might make the shows feel meaningless to people but at least for me, the tension between Wanda and Vision and the kinda sorta mystery (tho the show is quickly diluting that mystery to the most basic meh explanation) with Photon has been enough for me to really enjoy it! as for the Xmen stuff. my assumption is Disney is gonna hit the reset button on Xmen, Fantastic 4, etc.
but using a handful of actors from the previous series definitely helps the audience understand how the multiverse stories will work cause we know they're doing that with EVERY actor from EVERY spiderman movie soon.
i know that sounds obnoxiously brazen to some people but like, my parents watch this show and were thoroughly confused by that ending and are 100% gonna need to see Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender show up and explain it to them with really bad science for it to make sense. which again, comic books. it's fine.

So is the whole concept behind this huge amount of Marvel content coming to Disney Plus that we will need to watch these shows to understand what is happening in the movies?

yeah im assuming Disney's plan is to make the Star Wars and Marvel shows on Disney+ mandatory in order for the films to make total sense.
(although i'm sure in both franchises you could walk into any movie and basically 'get' what's going on it's not like they're ever gonna stray too far from the formulas as long as they keep breaking box office records)

So...
I think they sufficiently explained the goofiness and I really love the actual villain reveal (so far). I also love how the MCU reinvents shit, but really still manages to stick to some key story lines from the comics well enough that it's interesting without ruining it (Mysterio was really neat in that way, imho).
Very excited for the obviously imminent conflict between one character and the one seen in the mid-credits scene.

Eh? Pretty great finale! Didn't really let off the gas and was loads of fun. As a whole, the series was like a perfect little 9 issue graphic novel. I look forward to the next shows! Ralph Bohner lolol
That was a heck of a troll for us viewers.

We really loved the series, my daughter most of all. I really was not into the sitcom stuff of the first few episodes, but it was worth sticking around.

Wandavision spoilers I liked it a lot overall but the ending felt a little too cookie cutter Marvel for a show that's been really original. I'm not sure I needed a big DBZ esque fight to cap it off. Also I thought how much they downplayed what Wanda did was really weird, specially Monica saying "they'll never know what you sacrificed" like wtf these people were literally slaves to you why is your relationship more important than their lives
But overall I liked the show a lot, lots of great episodes and overall quite original. I wasn't sure if they'd be able to get me invested in post Endgame MCU but so far doing a good job. Im kind of expecting Falcon and Winter Soldier to be much less interesting but I do think MCU Film level action in a tv show could be fun, the high budget action scenes in Mandalorian is part of the fun of that show. I'm more excited for Loki though after the trailer for that

I'm very excited for proper Baron Zemo. "I'm not sure I needed a big DBZ esque fight to cap it off." Speak for yourself! I love those payoffs.

I'm definitely looking forward to Loki more than Falcon/WS but I'm most excited for Moon Knight. I had missed the casting announcement for it and saw that Oscar Issac was cast as MK and Ethan Hawke is the villain.

I understand the hesitation regarding Falcon/WS, but I remind myself that one of my favorite Marvel movies was the Winter Soldier. So I'm a little more optimistic than most.

Very good point. WS is top five MCU for me. If it's in the same vein as that then we'll be good to go.

I look forward to all of it (except those first two Thor movies). I like that they have given themselves the green light to dig deep on all these big story arcs and get pretty weird. I'm sure people will grow tired of it all eventually.

Every show that deals with the consequences of the blip just makes me want a show entirely focused on that even more. Like just some sort of drama mini series thing that deals with the real life consequences of the blip and maybe also just how normal people handle that superheroes and aliens and stuff exist I think could be really interesting

It was basically that’s exactly concept, and a phenomenal show

I had not put together til a few minutes ago that US Agent in real life is the offspring of Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn. Kate Hudson is his half sister. I can't unsee the resemblance now.

Whoa! They kept that casting under wraps pretty well, I'd say. Best episode of either series so far maybe.

Apparently they have big plans for that character. I have limited knowledge of them but its cool to see the writers flexing their knowledge.
Didn't see FAWS being the more dramatic affair than Wandavision but here we are and I'm a fan of it. Definitely more intrigued by Sam's arc now.

I think Falcon and Winter Soldier had some of the shakiest writing in the MCU ive seen in a minute but the high points were ridiculously fun and I liked the ending a lot. Also watching huge budget action scenes in a TV show is cool. Also some great character scenes throughout, it helps a lot that I became really invested in this universe

I'm pretty happy with that finale minus the power broker reveal. Lots of holes in that story unless they are going with a poorly written swerve sometime later.

Finished Falcon/WS last night and was pretty disappointed with the whole thing. The writing is bad, there’s a lot of throwaway stuff that doesn’t make any sense, and I didn’t find any of the characters particularly interesting.
The efforts to say that something progressive/socially responsible is possible under the name of Captain America are pretty laughable and hard to swallow at best.
