France captain Wendie Renard says she will not play at this summer's World Cup, as she criticised her country's football "system".

The 32-year-old defender, who has made 142 appearances for her country, said she was taking a step back from the team "to preserve my mental health".

Her France team-mate Kadidiatou Diani later joined her in announcing she would no longer play for her country.

Diani said the "management" of the team was one of the reasons behind the move.

A few weeks ago I attended my first MLS game. One of my wife's cousins is Pat Noonan, who coaches Cincinnati. They played STL two weeks ago, so us and a bunch of her cousins went to the game at the new stadium in STL. There was a tornado watch, which delayed the start of the game by like 2 hours. Cincinnati hadn't lost a game at that point, but they lost 5-1 that night. The crowd went ballistic whenever a goal was scored. Still, it was enjoyable. We're now talking about going to Cincinnati for a game at the end of August.

Yep.  I was looking for a 9AM sale time and hadn't seen anything, but did get the message ahead of Noon.

The prices on this game are insane.  I went to see Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last fall with my son and paid less for a pair of pitch-side seats than I did for third deck seats at Soldier Field for a freaking exhibition.
