Cheated a little bit. In one of those weird government contradictions, you could break quarantine to take a Covid test. PCR tests were required on Day 2 and 5, so arranged to take those 4 miles away from the hotel and walked there and back stopping to pick up curbside groceries and meals on the way home. Also the rules say you can't use a public gym in quarantine, but there was a gym in our hotel...which was private. It was always empty though...so we didn't feel bad about using it.
The government called us both (separately) every damn day (one day calling me at 4:56AM) to check up on us.
Masks for us everywhere. Compliance varied greatly...the tube was probably 80%+, stores about 60%, but the games were sub 10% (outdoors, of course, but in our section of the lower bowl every seat was taken).
Small price to pay to go to three big games. If you were an American Football fan and had tickets to the Super Bowl if you agreed to spend 6 days in a hotel, I imagine you'd take that deal. While I love the World Cup, I'm not a fan of South American teams, so the Euros are closer to being my Super Bowl.

Draw time... all I know is I don't want Group G or H for the USA because I don't want the opening game on Thanksgiving.

Playing Iran in Qatar doesn't sound fun. And the Welsh with Bales won't be easy (assuming they win the playoff). Still finishing 2nd is realistic.

The schedule is out, and it's nice to see that FOX money coming into good use. All USMNT group matches are at 1:00 PM Central.

The US cities for the 2026 World Cup get announced tonight. I'm really hoping Houston gets in but not super optimistic

I'll go Kansas City Feel bad for Denver fans though since that's a great soccer city. I think the altitude issue did them in

There are 15 other cities to choose from unless FIFA is banning Chicago residents from every host except KC.

KC is drivable from both Denver and Chicago, so I'm sure that influences it. Seattle/Vancouver will be impossible to get tickets for with how rabid those fans are, and that's really the only other spot I'd want to go if I were flying.

i'd consider Toronto because I love that city, but that stadium is small so will be difficult to get tickets. LA and NYC will be absolute shitshows since everyone will want to go there and I'm not going to Texas in the Summer.

Forgot about Atlanta. That's an option. Cheap flights, tons of hotels and a huge stadium.

Atlanta in the summer sounds just as miserable as Texas in the summer but with larger bugs.

My first priorities are team, so I'd hope and pray for USMNT tickets. I'd also love to see Spain.
City wise, Miami in the summer doesn't sound great, especially with an outdoor stadium.

You got a problem with snow followed by 70 degrees an hour later? Sounds lovely.
And no, I think the earliest I've seen it snow is late September.
