Four English teams in the finals of the World's two biggest club tournaments. Pretty damn impressive.
It's way too hard trying to find a way to stream the Europa League (and any of the Champion's League games beyond the one game televised per day) in 2019, though. Someone with a clearer interest in the game needs to go after these tournaments to make sure they're all readily available. Bleacher Report is a fucking joke.

Those were two incredible games. As an Arsenal fan, I am happy two EPL teams made it to the final. I am not sure who to root for though. Of course, as an Arsenal fan, I should probably be sitting quietly in the corner with a paper bag on my head after the last month. Can't agree more

Gutted to land in Baku two days too late to get to see one of these two finals (even only on a big screen)

They looked incredible. Not sure how I feel about dropping an NFL score on them, but when GD is a thing and Sweden is also very good, it's hard to argue too much.

Yeah, I've got no problem with running up the score, especially given Goal Differential is so important. But the celebrations after the score got to 5-0 or so were unsportsmanlike...and the choreographed sideline performances were gaudy and cringeworthy. Any team, but especially a team with as much success as the US has had, needs to have a little more class than that.

If you're only picking two Stranger Things characters I get going with Dustin as one but how is the other not El? Come on.

Since the season begins today, here's my prediction for the EPL. Gotta be better than my baseball predictions.
1. Manchester City - Not even close. By at least 10 points. Coin flip between them and Barcelona as to which is the best in the world. 2. Liverpool - Everything broke right for them last year and they still couldn't catch City. Europe was a nice consolation trophy though. 3. Tottenham - Love what they did in the transfer market. 4. Arsenal - Addressed their biggest weakness, the abysmal defense. It's only mediocre now but that's good enough with this offense. 5. Chelsea - I think they are due for a down year. The transfer ban is going to kill them. So is their coach. Falling a few more spots wouldn't be a surprise. 6. Leicester - Again, I like what they did in the off season. 7. Wolves - They were better than they finished last year. A dangerous team. 8. Manchester United - WTF? They have no plan nor any clue. 9. Watford - Could be West Ham or Palace here. 10. Everton - Every season I think this is the year they break into the top 4 and every season they finish around 10th.
Of the promoted teams, I think Aston Villa is the only one that will stay up. Sheffield will at least be one of the most entertaining team in the league with ridiculous amounts of goals (most of which will be against them). Relegated: Sheffield United, Norwich City, Newcastle.

Not a ton of differences at the top, but I think a few things could be surprising.
1. Tottenham (#COYS) 2. Man City 3. Liverpool 4. Arsenal (it's gonna be wild watching David Luiz running around back there) 5. Chelsea 6. Everton 7. Man U 8. Wolves 9. Leicester 10. Crystal Palace
Relegated: BHA, Sheffield, Norwich

That didn’t age well. At least Arsenal didn’t replace their useless clown of a coach with Mourinho. Silver lining!!

“The English Game” on Netflix is worth watching if you need a footie fix.

Did you make it all the way through? English football is the only sport we watch in our house, so I though I was the target audience for this. I was bored out of my mind. This was produced by the people that did Downton Abbey, and they spent so much time on the people surrounding the key players in the professionalism story line and the melodrama of the period that I didn't care much about the FA Cup scenes. To each their own of course, but just know what you're getting yourself into.

To each their own of course, but just know what you're getting yourself into. I watched it all. Not much else to do. You're right it is more DA than a story about the evolution of football. I thought it was okay anyway, though the story lines got wrapped up a bit too neatly for my tastes. It would have made a better show if there had been some focus on the evolution of tactics (this was a revolutionary period in the sport and is only briefly alluded to in the show), the move from school and work based teams to the professional game and the violence both in the game itself and in the communities. If you want a more football focused show, watch the Netflix documentary on Sunderland. It may be too depressing right now though as it shows what relegation does to a team, players, fans and a community. Pretty brutal at times.

My son also recommended the Sunderland series and it is in my queue as I know the next season is being made available shortly.
I've been to the Stadium of Light to see Sunderland and I understand the community aspect of it, especially with a stadium that big. Hard to play in the third tier to a stadium not even a quarter full. Looking forward to it.

teekoh Did you ever figure out how to watch NWSL without CBS all access or whatever No, I didn’t. There’s a free week trial, and I’ll probably end up paying for the one month to watch the tournament. I’ll cancel after that. They also have Legend of Korra on there which is a nice bonus.

I subscribed last year to watch Bradley lose in the NCAA tournament and then immediately forgot about it, only realizing in December I was still paying for it.
