It may be the wine talking, but this Ruston Kelly album is top 10 of 2020 material to my ears.

"Twin Human Highway Flares" is one of the Mountain Goats best songs, full stop.

Listened to new Disclosure and Dua Lipa remix album on my morning run. Thoroughly enjoyed both. Gave the new Angel record a listen yesterday, but need more time with it. Also really liked the new one from Kelly Lee Owens. Will probably give the new Katheryn Perry LP this afternoon. Heard a lot of mixed reviews about that one.

Keep the hits coming! The second half of this record, from "Family Happiness" on- is damn near perfect. I've only explored these two, AHWT, Nine Black Poppies, and a couple of tracks here and there (The Sign, Port Washington, Georgia) - but I think it's time for a full-blown lo-fi Goats dive. Edit: Can anyone paint a scene/setting or a brief, shared emotional moment in just one stanza the way John can? Fucking every song here is a masterclass. "Clear sky over Calcutta A warm wind Dvorak on the short wave Clear signal coming in / Long vowels spill like liquid from your mouth I hang on every word you say An army of transistor radios on the bookshelf Left on all day" Or like every line in "Alphonse Mambo?" Just ridiculously good.

There's a new Colter Wall album out today apparently? I had no idea this was coming, so I'm pretty psyched

God damn this is so good, and probably up most of the board's alley as well. "Big Wheel" is definitely one of my favorite songs of the year Samia - baby

More artists should drop motivation video instructor samples in the middle of their albums tbh

Yesterday Chris Forsyth (one of the best guitarists around) was talking up mid-70s Can bootlegs on Twitter. He posted a link to this one, and it's absolutely blowing my mind this morning. Jaki is such a monster on the drums and the guitar/keyboard interplay is very frequently transcendent. In short, this rules.
Edit: OH MY GOD the transition that kicks in from 1:10:00 to 1:12:00
