Finally put some headphones on for this and it is real good. The Brits are still alright at the punk-thing. Expect to keep this in rotation for a while.

2 albums, same cover design that are probably about as polar opposite musically as you can get. same 39 minute running time too.

Finally got around to more 2021 albums today, checked out Cheekface (very fun but idk if their singer's witticisms are gonna hold up to repeat listens); Yasmin Williams (another excellent addition to the AmPrim school, some really gorgeous tracks on here. Doesn't immediately strike me as as revelatory as the praise it's receiving, but it's damn good - gonna be doing a lot of park walking w/ this on); and Pom Poko, here, which was my favorite upon first listen? Shades of Guerrilla Toss and Deerhoof on here, lots to dig into. Excited to add this to my rotation!

It’s probably good that you don’t reach for that album often because you have a healthy, fulfilling romantic relationship

If anyone has any suggestions for recent stuff that sounds like Jon Hopkins or Jacques Greene, I'm all ears You might like the new BICEP album. I'll look at my spotify later and come up with some better suggestions Edit: Not sure if these will scratch your itch, but you might enjoy Nathan Fake, Daniel Avery, George Fitzgerald, Roman Flugel, Max Cooper, Rival Consoles, Lapalux, Luke Abbott, Mount Kimbie, Maribou State, Tourist, and Lane 8. They didn't all have new music last year but I didn't realize how many I was typing and just kept going lol hope at least one or two of these fit what you're looking for. Definitely enjoying the BICEP album, on my second listen now and it's a good one. I'll have to dig into more of your list later, thanks!

#ListeninToPrince when i listened to lovesexy on spotify last year, it was on there as just two tracks like the original LP. glad to see they've finally split it up.

oh hey the new Foo Fighters is my favorite of theirs since Wasting Light.
it helps that it's only 36 minutes as opposed to that last two that felt like they were 3 hours long
edit: new Cult of Luna sounds like pretty much every other Cult of Luna ever. which is fine. there's only one Mark Lanegan track unfortunately and i was expecting him to be on the whole album.

It's a pretty good day for music. I've already hyped up new Weather Station and it's P4K review will lead to most checking it out, but the debut from Black Country New Road is great if you like that off-kilter post-punk like black midi. There's a Kanye reference in a song that I thought was funny the first few times but now find it dumb, but that aside it's a fun listen. There's also a new Telescopes record out, for anyone interested in the drone-gaze era that they've been in since the 2010s. This one's a bit more rocking though, lots of fuzz, lots of riffage (for them). I'm half way through the new Hayley Williams and don't hate it.

i think i really liked 3 of the songs on the black country, new road album, and really didn't like 3 of them. i'll have to listen more, but not the wow of the black midi releases for me.
