Trying to hear some of this year's country releases - this is by far my favorite. Really beautiful, sparse playing with vocals reminiscent of Steve / Justin Townes Earle. Sad, insightful songs, emotive singing. It's excellent.

The most important rock band (to me). Ahead of their time?

Starting to play catch-up on my saved albums backlog and this was the earliest 2021 release I'd saved but hadn't gotten to. This shit is good- reminds me of lady Fleet Foxes at parts (edit: this is probably not accurate- serves me right for blabbing). I will get more drunk and start the "Albums You May Have Missed" thread tonight.

That Flight Mode ep really hit the spot today. Definitely recommended for the emo fans.

Have y'all listened to MIKE's Disco! that came out a couple of weeks ago? It is quite good, imho, and the man does not miss.

I would like to declare the Darkside album Good, potentially Very Good

It seems like a lot of the criticism boils down to “it sounds like the last darkside album” and my response to said criticism is “what other acts sound like darkside did/does you stupid motherfuckers”

I don't understand why Sault would pull their album they just put out as its pretty easily the best thing they've done in their career.

This was great as expected. Went in a little bigger rock/bigger production that I expected from her, but still enjoyed it quite a bit.

Anyone else find Billie's music boring? I was driving home yesterday from a trip and I felt like skipping almost 80% of the songs. I don't think the music is bad by any means, guess it just doesn't do much for me.
I really liked the title track, I didn't change my number, and Oxytocin though.

We listened to it a bit while driving to get ice cream yesterday, and the first few tracks are definitely pretty blah. I'll give it more attention later and see if that changes my mind

Fans of Daughters shouldn't sleep on the Alexis Marshall record. Scratches that itch, even if it doesn't quite rip like Daughters proper.

I don't know how much I'll go back to it but this is pretty goshdarn good Pretty much how I'm feeling about it. Loved it upon release, but have only gone back a few more times. Seems really calibrated for a certain type of vibe that I haven't been in much lately. Seems ideal for nighttime walking.
