 This one has been a real grower (Madi Diaz - History of a Feeling). Crying in Public and New Person, Old Place are total heartbreakers. Definitely climbing up my list for the year. |

 First time checking these guys out - they're the main band at the Dogleg show in Denver this weekend. Kind of Taking Back Sunday-ish. This is going to be a fun show at a super tiny venue. Thank god it's on a Saturday night. Yeah, this is right in my wheelhouse. I probably should have gotten a ticket for that show, but oh well, I'll see these guys next time around. |

Already spun the new GbV which is better than the album they put out earlier this year. Too early to say if it's the highwater mark of this run of the band but it could be close. Bob seems revitalized by reissuing some of his older solo stuff.

On first listen, this is very, very good. Not sure if it eclipses Wide Awake just yet, but I could see myself preferring it in short order. Really like how this band is growing, they deserve it.

Listening to this one again - only a few songs stood out to me on first listen, but it's definitely a grower. Listened to the new MMJ album yesterday too, and this is definitely a better MMJ album than that. Read an interview with Tim the other day and learned that Stan from "Jimi and Stan" is his dog who passed away. Now I'm choking up at work  (( |

Maxo Kream album is good not great. The songs where other rappers are on them are the best songs.
I keep trying Grouper albums and they never do anything for me, this one is no different.

I liked the Grouper album a fair bit more than I expected too. Especially the back half of it. But it's so quiet and I do a lot of music listening at work in an open-plan office or commuting, so I don't think I'll get a lot of replay value from it? Will try and find time for it on quiet mornings though.
Helado Negro didn't do too much for me this time around, which is a bummer because I really like their (his?) last one. Maybe a second listen will change my mind a bit?

I listened to the new Lana again. It’s really fucking good Just got done with my first listen, really digging it. I like it a lot, it doesn't seem to be a chore to get through like some of Chemtrails. Might be my second favorite of hers. |

I've listened to this on and off over the last few days, and I can confidently say that it's not as good as Wide Awake. I'm finding it often fading to the background on repeat listens. Still a good record though. |
