Already spun the new GbV which is better than the album they put out earlier this year. Too early to say if it's the highwater mark of this run of the band but it could be close. Bob seems revitalized by reissuing some of his older solo stuff. Yea this was great, I liked it way more than their record from earlier this year. Cherub and the Great Child Actor > Black and White Eyes, High in the Rain, and My Limited Engagement were the early standouts.

Stunning. The Twist jam here is instantly catapulted into my pantheon of favorite Phish jams. Gonna be returning to this one a lot. Also, Squirming Coil has got to be my favorite Phish closer. Page's piano solos give me chills damn near every time.

First listen: this is incredible. Maybe my favorite hip-hop release of the year, but I should stop saying things like that after only one listen.

Adam has fucking done it again. The whole back half of this album is luminous. I'm especially obsessed with the Old Skin > Wasted combo. Listened two times in a row this morning and am planning on *several* more listens today. More detailed writeup maybe coming later.

Have this one on now and am also really enjoying it. "What if This Heat but hookier" is something a lot of bands have aimed for in the last 15 years, but this has got to be one of the best executions of that directive. In the company of Women / early Viet Cong, but more indebted to the melodic turns of certain early 2000s indie rockers, a la Interpol or Walkmen. Really really really good shit.

Immediately bought a ticket to see them next April. Looks like I dropped the ball by not catching on of their handful of NYC shows earlier this year.

I thought I was over them after the last one was kind of meh. I was wrong. I'm now stoked I have decent Chicago Theatre seats to see them in February.

[HYPERBOLE ALERT] I just finished this album, and it may be the best indie rock debut in yeeaarrss. Everyone on the board should check this shit out. (for context, I posted the first comment halfway thru the 3rd song, and I bought tickets to see them after 4 songs)

Damn, I really should have listened to this before Riot Fest. Still pretty much no way I could have gotten there early enough to see them, I'm sure they'll play another show here soon anyways

First great discovery from that Steregum new band list. Mandy, Indiana - ... (ep) first track is like a French indie band rocking over the beat from Kanye's Black Skinhead. Pretty good stuff after that as well.
