Have this one on now and am also really enjoying it. "What if This Heat but hookier" is something a lot of bands have aimed for in the last 15 years, but this has got to be one of the best executions of that directive. In the company of Women / early Viet Cong, but more indebted to the melodic turns of certain early 2000s indie rockers, a la Interpol or Walkmen. Really really really good shit. Ian Cohen's pan of them this morning just makes me like this album even more |

Finally listened to the Clairo album and I was kinda blown away. Didn't like her debut but Sling is really great.

More short, acclaimed albums, please! Wow, triple posting to say this album is really great. Was really struck upon my second listen by how emotive her singing is. Especially on tracks like Madonna or Mia. Automate is also fantastic. |

Back again to say that this Snail Mail is absolutely one of the best records of the year. Listened to it two more times today and read her fantastic track-by-track breakdown with Stereogum. Automate > Mia is just stunning. |
