This one's growing on me after 5-6 years. Edit: These 2 were earlier in the day now that I remember it

Happy to tell that joke anytime. I can’t think of too many intentionally shitty shows. Death Grips and DOOM come to mind. DOOM was also notable because I very lightly got hit by a car afterwards. Also Danzig at FFF. I happen to be 3/3.

New Harry Styles is actually pretty good? Really didn’t care for the last one at all but this is definitely less try-hard

Been spinning this one a lot lately (MJ Lenderman - Boat Songs). Sorta like a scuzzier, more acerbic and gutpunching take on Dougie Poole? The P4k review also compared him to Sparklehorse, which feels apt to me. "Hangover Game" and "TLC Cagematch" are must-listens. I bet plenty of folks on the Board would be fans. Check it out!

Another way to pitch this album would be: If Alex G was good

Pretty much all mid-tempo Jeff songs again. My favorite tracks by Wilco have always been when Glenn and Nels are allowed to shine, and they are completely in the background here. Also, 21 tracks?? Ugh. Oh well.

Seriously a jaw dropping work. If I ever get around to setting up the Best of the 80s Project, this will be in or near my top 10

International Anthem simply does not miss. Huge recommendation to any of the jazzheads here for this one. Villarreal is the drummer in jazz/latin/rock group Dos Santos and the layers on layers of rhythm here are hypnotic. The real star IMO tho is guitar god Jeff Parker - who is all over these tracks and crushes it throughout the album. Check it out!

I gave that new Billie Eilish album a spin the other day. There are too many songs on it, and there's that shitty auto-tune on NDA, but other than that, it's pretty good! It sounds good on headphones.

New Angel Olsen is probably her best Is this an actual new album? I thought it was that cover album, but that came out a few months back I guess. Also I think Purity Ring put out something today?? I saw it on Tidal, but have not listened yet

the Purity Ring thing is an ep called graves. Pretty good as usual, just obviously pretty short.

Also Spice, who put out a great one in 2020, put out another good album a couple of weeks ago. Worth a listen too.

Dang, I didn't listen to this one when it came out cuz I thought I didn't like this band (Dehd), but daaaamn this is good. Hooky, jangly indie rock that's weird and infectious enough to stand out. Glad I found this in time for summer.

I was told this Wilco album was gonna be boring but I quite enjoyed it! Waaaayy more tuneful than his last decade of releases, IMO. Excited to dig back into it.
