Feel pretty confident this is the first full spin despite knowing like half the songs on here by name There are only 4-7 albums out there better than this one

for every couple of billy joel songs i think are great (she's always a woman, only the good die young, scenes from an italian restaurant) there's always one that annoys me so profoundly it just turns me off of him entirely (movin' out) Today is your final day

Part of me has always wanted to see him just to cross him off but I am not willing to pay whatever the hell he's charging now. Obviously I welcome the tour with Stevie Nicks making a stop at the Lollapalooza festival.

Obviously I welcome the tour with Stevie Nicks making a stop at the Lollapalooza festival. the billy joel / elton face to face tour i saw in '03 was one of my favorite shows ever... every song a hit! and i saw billy a few years after that on a solo tour and was almost top row of an arena and still had a good time.

Billy Joel was good live when I saw him with my folks in 1999 and with Elton in...2016? I assume he can still play the hits well.

Anyone here fans of / familiar with Wishbone Ash? I stumbled on this record today and am blown away. They were pioneers of twin guitar harmonies, i.e. major influences on folks like Iron Maiden and Thin Lizzy. And this album oscillates wildly between prog, jazz, noodly hard rock, and - like - power pop? Then there's this whole medieval theme to the second half? I can't believe I'd never heard of this band before, and it's not like they're particularly obscure, each song here has like 2+ million streams. What a cool band/sound.

Well, the album everyone's talking about this week is indeed excellent! I'm referring, of course, to Dezron Douglas' newest full-length on International Anthem, Atalaya. Check it out!

New Weyes Blood is nice and all, but it does not come close to reaching the highs of Titanic Rising for me. Curious if I'll enjoy it more or less as its own thing on future listens.

I remember when this was a young upstart band trying to take over the world one XRT airplay at a time. It's bemusing to me that I'm enjoying this as much as I am.

Stereogum's write up of this band's new record piqued my interest. First minute had me going, "uh, I don't know...those vocals aren't doing it for me..." A few minutes later, "never mind, this kicks ass."
