I'm really vibing with her songwriting, totally worth the 50+ minute runtime.

Extremely hitting today. "Chosen to Deserve" is, like, a best of the decade level song.

Got a free trial of Amazon music so I’ve been listening to some faves absent from other services I think I was a sophomore in college the last time I listened to Hejira straight through and it might be the best album ever? Will have to do more research to confirm

Honestly might be #1 if I was redoing my 90s list. Just guts me every time.

Catching up on some new releases today. I really want to like this Jana Horn record - it seems to have all the component parts that would make me love it. But each song just comes up like 70-80% short of clicking with me. Maybe I'll give it another shot later this week, for today it's just not connecting with me.

Not that I’m surprised based on the singles but after a couple listens I can confidently say that the new National album is not very good

I enjoyed the new National, "Grease in Your Hair" should be a great live staple for the next few years. New Indigo de Souza is good again, maybe not quite as good as the last album, but still enjoyable. Tons of other new stuff out today, either moving on to new Braids or the Beach House ep next

Not that I’m surprised based on the singles but after a couple listens I can confidently say that the new National album is not very good yeah im feeling this too on my initial impressions. it feels really uninspired honestly some of the interviews recently said Matt had huge writers block for a while and I honestly think I can tell with this album, feels like he almost forced the lyrics in there on a few of the tracks. Granted this is early impressions maybe they should have taken a longer break, idk. Also I'm not why "weird goodbyes" isnt on here because its better than most of this album
