This came out last Friday and it's incredible how fast I went from "haha this is fun, this singer sounds exactly like Macho Man" to "Actually a lot of these riffs are really catchy" to "I can't listen to anything besides this album" (Never Ending Game - Outcry).

Mandy, Indiana album was fine but it didn't do much for me. I said that about Model/Actriz and about a month later fell in love with it, so let's see what happens here

The highlight of this Anime/Kaytranada album appears to be Freddie Gibbs

I think a lot of people on here will really like this. ( Pynch - Howling at a Concrete Moon) Debut album from a UK band that reminds me of Pulp/early Arctic Monkeys, but with some monster Dire Straits riffs/solos. Very fun stuff.

This was a legit good read. V Italian focused obviously Edit- like 2 minutes after I posted this the NYT sent me a news push on decades of sexual abuse from the Catholic church in Chicagoland for 7 decades. Can't make this shit up

Currently watching Kwame Raoul’s press conference on the AG’s report on IL clergy abuse. Glad we’re all on the same page.

Two pretty good new ones for me today. The Madison McFerrin album is pretty great, going to try to pull off a double show night seeing her after King Gizzard next month. Living Hour was pretty good, really ripping off Beach House in some spots though.

Checked this out on my walk to work this morning and texted Rachel to congratulate them. It makes me so happy to see the reception they're getting, and my current students think it's so cool to see this happening to someone who was like them.

Really good album release day. Agree with ultravisitor on Water From Your Eyes, it's living up to expectations, which is pretty great I think I've heard almost all of the new Miya Folick prior to the release from all the singles that were out, but it's still very good. And the new Gia Margaret is a very good very chill listen

Really loved Kassa Overall's last album in 2020, thankfully this one follows suit. Weird in a good way, big mix of jazz, hip hop and rock. One song has Danny Brown, I'm still not a fan of his at all though.
